Basically when I bought my dress I took it away with me as it's an ex sample. I ordered and paid for a veil and a hoop which I was told would arrive in November. They didn't arrive but I wasn't worried as ive a while to go.
I phoned them on monday and asked where it was and after some um ming and ahing they promised to sort it out. It's arrived. The veil was just bunched up in a paper bag, no plastic wrapping or tags and the bag has been shoved into a bag with the hoop. no box. My veil was £80 I was expecting a better service. How do veils normally arrive?
I'm disappointed. I feel they forgot to order one and shoved the shop one in a paper bag for me instead?

Hmm-I would expect it to be kept better then that. Mine was from China and it came in a plastic wrapping, can't remember if it had tags or not, but it was folded nicely to avoid too many creases.

I would complain if I were you. For £80 you expect much better then that.

Definitely complain, that's not good enough at all. You could order the cheapest veil you could find and you would still expect it to actually come properly wrapped and folded etc. I think you're right, it sounds like they panicked and just sent you whatever they could get their hands on. As a bridal store they should be offering you a personal, first class service, so I would definitely complain x

I would complain. I would expect better service from a bridal shop.

I actually can't believe how badly it was sent to be honest, even if they panicked and sent you what they had in, surely they would think to wrap it properly and make it look presentable. Let us know how you get on with complaining.

Thanks girls. was just wondering if I was being overly fussy. I phoned the shop and said I was unhappy she said that they came with nothing around them but they should have wrapped it in tissue nicely. she apologised and offered me a refund if i returned it which I think I will do. Going to see what the local bridal shop to me has to offer and i'll also ask them about alterations too.

At least they've offered you a refund. I'm sure you will find something lovely at another bridal shop :)

I ordered mine from a website (link on my wall). They made it to my specs & it came with tissue paper & a box. It was only £28 inc postage too.

Try looking into having one made as they are cheaper & are unique to you aswell (mine was colour matched for me). They also were really quick.

That is certainly not acceptable behaviour from anyone let alone a bridal shop!

Glad you can get a refund. Mine came wrapped in the plastic it comes in from the manufacturer. When I picked it up it was folded neatly and put in a decent bag to carry home.

Yep that's the kind of service i expected. I'm going to send it back tomorrow and claim my refund. I went online last night and chose a r4inbow c1ub veil instead. they seem to come all packaged nicely with tissue paper in a nice box and tag. I knew what size and style i wanted so made it fairly easy to choose. Fingers crossed it will be way nicer.

I might go to a different shop too for alterations, its a hard one as the shop i got my dress from is about an hour away from me, id rather go local then my mother in law to be can come with me. I think that would be a nice thing to do. I'll phone them monday and see if they alter other dresses.

Glad you've sorted something out and got a refund. I would expect more than that. They could have at least given you a decent bag!

Glad you're getting a refund. That's not very good just shoving it in a bag. I went to pick mine up from the shop for my hair trial the other week. It was on a hanger with plastic over the top and she folded it nicely and put it in a bag for me. I had to hang it up when I got home though

Glad they at least gave you a refund; my veil came packaged nicely with tags so your veil should have at least been packaged. Good luck with your local bridal shop :)
