Has anyone else found that since you got engaged the whole female population wants to be a bridesmaid? Half of my h2b's female friends have asked him if they could be a bridesmaid while pretty much ignoring me, nice of them to at least make an effort to get to know me before helping me plan my most special day!

That so annoys me, and if it's not that, they want an invite.

I only had one person fishing for an invite, and she was an all round nasty piece of work so it didn't really surprise me. She didn't get one. I don't think I had anyone asking to be a bridesmaid, and the people that I asked were all really surprised.

30th August 2014 was the best birthday ever.
It was the day that I became Mrs. Dixon.

I didn't have much of that, but we don't have many female relatives, especially on his side.

Very rude of them to ask him and ignore you as well, you'd at least expect them to be sucking up to you (not that you'd want them to, but if your the sort to try and get in as a bridesmaid I would have thought you'd at least speak to the bride)

I had loads of it, peeps on book face would say wheres my invite bla bla bla. I even had one of the mws ask to come along, another one piped up telling her she cannot invite herself along. It was rude.

Wow-I have had people at work joke about it, they know they're invited to the evening but have joked about what are we having for the main meal... so I've just laughed back and said depends what you decide to cook for yourself.

I did have one of my cousins message me when I sent save the dates out asking if her partner would be invited, she said she wasn't bothered but she knows that other people haven't invited her partners before and all his friends have always invited her to weddings.... so it was like... hmmm so you are bothered then. But after some family kicks off at my mum and Auntie it's looking like the cousin won't be invited either, so that's that solved

I haven't experienced any of that, thank goodness.

I haven't experienced that thankfully, the only person I had presuming they were bridesmaid was H2B's sister which she is going to be anyway.

Luckily I've not had this but that's because we have 4 children between us and I said that's enough.... My sister is my MOH but she is 34 and our children are small.....

Lots of people have said 'don't forget my invite' however, until you start planning your own wedding you don't actually realise the genuine costs of things.

I have family inviting themselves, but unfortunately, in Brazil, family is something like a "complementary" guest. I don't have a choice (mum would never speak to me again).
Just my best friends knew they would be my bms, but they still looked really surprised when I handed the invites.
I have this problem with a friend. He used to be loads more than just a friend before I meet my oh, and now we are really good friends. And he keeps saying things like "you are inviting me, right?!". Don't want to, but don't know how to say that.
