At the moment, this is my biggest stress. My dress is in my photos for anyone to look at, but due to the low back and the detailing, i can decide whether to wear a veil or just get a beautiful hair accessory. Im getting married in a church and i dont want to take anything away from the dress. I did try on a short veil which slightly covered the back and they said they could possibly get a shorter one, but it wouldnt be available to try on until a fitting closer to the wedding. I really dont want to wait that long, i like to be organised really early. Ive recently thought about a cathedral length veil but not sure how it would look with the dress. If anyone has had the dress, or even anything similar id love to see what you wore with it!

The dress I have been looking at has a low back like yours and i am having the same problem. Depending on if it suits me I think I am going to go for a short veil (elbow length) so that it doesn't take too much away from the dress and I am going to take it off after the ceremony so that the back of the dress can be seen for the majority of the day :)

I know what you mean about liking to be organised early because I am exactly the same, but it might be worth the wait for the shorter one so you can see it on and then make your mind up. You will still have plenty of time to sort something out so don't panic! x

I wasn't bothered about having one until I tried one on with my dress and it just kind of 'completed' the look - I felt amazing in it. I kept putting the veil on at home and wandering round with it on, lol. I would try one on and see what you think.

I remember when I couldn't decide on what length veil to get and I was reeading - it said if you have a dress with detailing on the back then you are best getting either a short veil (one that ends before the dress begins, if that makes sense) or a long one that covers it (as the design can still be seen through it). I preferred the longer waist length ones so that's what I went for. I've attached a couple of pics x

I think a catherdral length veil with that would really add to it.

If you do, try a long one, I think the back is so lovely though that it would be a shame to cover it

I agree try some on and see what you think. There's no need to stress about it, just go with what feels right for you

I'm a cathedral length veil fan, had one myself. I'm also a believer in covering as much as possible in church so maybe go for the veil and take it off after photos before the sit down wedding breakfast.

As soon as we'd had the receiving line I took mine off, mainly for practical reasons so didn't wear it for the meal onwards x

Personally I love cathedral length you can always arrange you hair so u can take the veil off after the ceremony to show off the back of the dress? Definitely try a few and see how h feel?

Im going next month to get measured and actually put the order in for my dress so im definitely going to take all your advice and just try loads on. Quite like the idea of having it on for the ceremony and taking it off for the reception, but i dont know where i would leave it (i know its such a silly thing to worry about). Our reception is in a huge ballroom which is a converted masonic hall, their are no rooms to leave it in and id be terrified of leaving it somewhere in case it got ruined!
