wondering how much people have spent , I'm a creative person and I'm wanting so many things, i seem to find things everyday that I'm like i want to do that , love it.. but i know i cant afford them all.. , im getting worried that its going to be a fortune.. just wondered what others have spent and what that included for price.. :) i love this part of the organising, im SOOOO excited to decorate the woods where our ceremony is going to be.. want to turn it into a totally enchanting magical place with candelabras hanging from tress and fairy lights everywhere !

We got everything included in our venue price. The only thing we bought was the real flowers for the centrepieces etc as we wanted real flowers, not plastic and silk ones that the venue had, when we priced up doing everything separately it would have been around £1000 x

It was alot less but weve changed the centre peices to giant wine glasses which made it mofe than fish bowl price and also first venue didnt need table clothes they provided bt that went wrong and we changed venues which will provide if we needed but more expensive than my friend :-)

We bought a few of our iwn things like lights for top table sweet and cake table. Also led candle lights as we managed to find a bargin deal on them n we got our own candle holders (so u cnt see the cheap plasticy candles haha)
But wont be a huge waste of money most of them we have said she can keep after ill take a few of the candle holders home tho :-) and the top table lights will go on mine n mams xmas tree from nxt yr haha :-)

The only things we had in the way of decor were chair covers and sashes for the ceremony, which cost £2.50 per chair/£180 total (we bought the sashes for £1 each which was cheaper than renting them, and we can sell them on), and flowers; the decorative flowers (2 pedestals and 13 fishbowl table centres) cost £530.

Decor can really add up so we picked a venue that didn't need anything extra x

Sounds brilliant Emma, I am sure you will be able to pick a lot of that up cheaply, look around for people getting rid of sofas cheaply or just wanting rid of them. Will be ace. Before we moved house we had a huge garden, we changed our sofas so had our old leather ones outside, we used to sit on those around the fire pit. Was lovely.

We are spending £200 on a star backdrop that our venue provides, then everything else I am trying to get for around £50-£80, making the centrepieces myself and getting a Mr & Mrs sign from the bay, OH is going to make some 'love' signs too x

    Hi

Iv been franticly googling wedding decorations for ideas the list seems endless iv ended up using a company to come in and do it for me as i didnt anticipate that id would have to do the decorations myself if i was to buy from hobbycraft etc, i want to be getting dressed in the monring not decorating lol.
we was given a really good price by a company call The venue decorators UK we have 70 guest and have pretty much everything we need for £300 i might add some extras on though nearer the time they have loads to choose from and are so helpful.
leave it to the experts i say so you dont waste money buying mistakes from ebay hobby craft etc,

cant wait for my special day!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a guess list of 250 at the moment and growing. I'm trying to keep costs down so we are planning to decorate ourselves. Any tips are welcome. We are based in London. I really like fish bowls but there are 25 tables so this works out quite expensive.

Keep an eye out to see if anyone is selling them from their wedding, could get a nice little bargain. Keep an eye on the bay as well, or the tree of gum.

sale or swap sites on FB, gumtree and preloved are all good places to source fishbowls, however you might struggle getting identical ones in that quantity?
