Hi guys, well this is my first time post on here, don't know if anyone will be able to help me as I seem to be turning into bridezilla when finding a wedding dress!!! I'm getting married in 2016 (yes I know it's still 18 months off but I'm ridiculously well organised and need everything getting sorted in the next 8 months ideally). I've been looking for a dress all summer with my mum and bridesmaids, but I'm really struggling to find "the one". I'm a size 14 and fairly big busted, so unfortunately deeper cut sweetheart necklines just don't suit me (and would give my dad a heart attack!), but I do like the shallower ones. I also like a fair amount of glitter, not too much lace, so I think perhaps a fairly plainly shaped top with lots of glitter/diamantes, perhaps a waist belt or room for one, and then a subtly blend into modest layers (not too fluffy!) of skirt, with perhaps a whisper of diamantes down the skirt. I can't seem to find one like this anywhere! Has anyone seen one?

This is really tricky! Have you been to bridal shops and tried lots of dresses on in different styles. If so, great! If not, I recommend that this is where you start. My sister had a clear idea of exactly what she wanted and was devastated the style didn't suit her, I had a very open mind and tried everything on, took lots of pictures and time to reflect on which aspects of which dresses I liked the best and suited my body shape. Then when I knew exactly what I wanted I did internet search after internet search, just for inspiration and found exactly what I wanted.
With regards to the actual style of dress you are looking for, it sounds like you would find something similar in most bridal shops. Maybe have a look on the websites of your local wedding shops at the styles they have and book an appointment with the one that seems to offer more in your line of taste, but I would definitely say keep an open mind!

^^^ Great advice Carrie! Have you tried the dress finder tool on here? Once I'd narrowed down what style/shape suited me I used it to try to find some dresses I liked. If you have the budget maybe consider getting a bespoke dress made? Xx

It seems like you have a very clear image of what you want.. It may be worthwhile to speak to a dress maker and see what she draws up for you x

I'm a 14, large bust, I got Maggie Sotterro's Ambrosia. It has a straighter neckline, and it complimented my bust or I think it did anyhoo.
