We are getting married in the uk at 9am and flying to Rome at 1pm...
I'm a cake hound.... Should we wait til we get home and have a cake there or should I organise one to be made and delivered to our hotel in Rome?
Ceremony booked 03.12.2015

Are you planning to have a cake just for you or for your guests? Is there a reception, it doesn't seem like there is a lot of time. If you want to have a wedding cake to share with your guests then it may be better to have it at home. If you have fruit cake you could keep some of it back for after you get back from Rome, and have some at the wedding.
30th August 2014 was the best birthday ever.
It was the day that I became Mrs. Dixon.

Why not have one small tier that you can take off and package up for Rome. That way everyone gets some at the reception and you get to take some with you.
I think gf makes a good point above at least that way everyone gets to benefit from the cake x
