    Hi you all!!

As I told you guys before, I am Brazilian and getting married at UK. I know nothing about weddings there and I am trying my best to organize everything from Brazil lol The wedding date is 16.02.17.

Anyway, for now, I'm looking for a venue for the wedding. I always had this dream about having a wedding on the countryside, but since I started looking for a venue, I started wondering if it would be worth and if a hotel wedding wouldn't be a better option.

My question is, based on your experiences, which one is the cheaper option? I found some hotel packages quite good and cheap, and I am worried that the countryside one will be really more expensive. It's not the most important thing for me anymore, I just want to have an idea...

    Sorry about the confusion lol

It all depends on the location. What area are you planning to have your wedding?

East Midlands. We are gonna live in Lincoln (he is from there), so I'm trying to find something up to 30 miles from there.

You can get some beautiful manor houses that have accommodation like a hotel but host weddings with good packages and they're not necessarily countryside but with the grounds feels like they are.
Best thing to do is check out some venues.

Don't forget to keep in mind the time of year. It's going to be cold in February. You could get some lovely frosty photo's but I don't think you are going to want to spend too much time outside on the grounds in February, no matter how beautiful they are!

Maybe request a brochure on here for that area, you may find a lovely house set in some kind of land so you get the best of both worlds. I got married in a hotel. It was lovely as we wanted somewhere where we could have the reception afterwards so it was all in one place. Is this what you have in mind??

Yeah, I'm thinking about the cold as well. We are not getting married at the church, so will be something like everything in one. I found some good packages for about 3000, but I was wondering if it would be possible to get better options. I don't want/can't spend much :(

Countryside in a barn conversion was ours! We would choose that any time over a hotel, we thought it was more individual, unique and personal x

My advice is to look around the area you wish to marry in, and look at the councils list of approved marriage venues. We have gone for a hotel but it backs onto a stunning wooded area. You can get the best of both worlds and do it at a reasonable price.

Thing is some hotels look like they do brilliant deals til you go in and you need 30 more ppl than the package, or it doesn't include drinks etc?... For what we wanted, the barn was around £800 more overall but we loved it x

    Ok, I've found this place, it's a hotel/barn, for 40 day/60 evening guests.
It includes: both ceremony and reception room hire, arrival drinks, canapés, three course breakfast, drinks w/ breakfast, drinks to toast, evening finger buffet, tablecloth, napkins, wedding coordinator, toastmaster, bed and breakfast for bride and groom for the wedding night...
It also says that includes "OUR RESIDENT DISCO FOR YOUR EVENING RECEPTION", but I'm stupid and don't really know what it means... is it the DJ?

Ok, this would cost me about £2,600. I would like to know if you guys think it's a fair value... because at first sight, I think it's quite good :)

That does sound like a very reasonable price for all that, and includes accommodation which always helps.

I agree with you, but I really can't. I'm still in Brazil, and my parents are talking about paying for the flight to send me to England next March to see my lovely h2b and to start sorting things out :)

Unemployed, atm. So, need my parents help :(
