Odd question but when it comes to the end of the day.. Are we trusting our other halves to be able to get us out of our dresses?!... Without breaking it?.. :)
I don't know why I was just thinking about what underwear I need to look at for my fitting and then though well how am I supposed to get out the bloody thing?!

Mines lace up, and I've told H2B to be careful! - but the lady who owns the dress shop I bought from did tell me a horror story of a bride who came in post-wedding to have her dress repaired... as her impatient and very amerous groom couldn't be bothered with the lace up and snipped the entire thing down the back! :O

My hubby did fine with mine as well even after a few drinks (though he wasn't drunk as he didn't drink that much with me being pregnant and not drinking at all, he wanted to remember the day so paced himself really well) obviously I don't know what it'd be like getting it off if really worse for wear x

Let me set the scene.. OH is the most cack handed person! He's left handed but uses both hands as equally poorly! Lol my dress is lace up corset back and I've seen him spend 35 mins trying to undo jogging bottoms drawstring waistband before to then just sit in them after giving up saying they're broken! Lol so... I'm thinking maybe there needs to be some pre prep done for him! Given the bridal store lady is lacing me into it she's going to do it up right tight!

Ha it's the most annoying thing! Especially when he offers to make a sandwich.. Can't take him up on the offer else my bread would turn into a ball of mashed bread and butter! Sigh... Think I'll just sleep in it then, I won't want to take it off anyway it's costing enough, might as well make the most of it!

I wondered this too! I may have to get someone to loosen me so he at least stands a chance. I am not even sure if he will manage it sober in the morning, I might have to arrange someone to help me then!!

I'd not thought about this either. I expect my OH would be ok getting me out of it.. he's usually good with things like that (bit of a perfectionist, not a typical man's man)! Failing that, it might be worth asking your mum or someone like that to undo it for you before they leave/before everyone goes up to bed (if you/they are staying the night) xx

My husband was ok, and couldn't wait to get me out of it. I really didn't want to take it off, it was a sad reminder that the day we had been building up to was over, and it was a shame seeing it in the corner. My MOH had showed him what to do, and offered to loosen it, but he said no he would be fine.

I got changed into a lighter dress at about 11pm and I am so glad I did! My wedding dress had buttons all the way down the back and it took my two bridesmaids a good fifteen minutes to undo them all and get me out of it. My husband would have never managed it! In the end all he had to undo was a zip which he just about managed! Lol xxx

Have you got a corset or a top that laces up similar to your dress?

I've no worries with H2B as he helps me get in and out of my corsets so if he can manage that he can manage a wedding dress.

Failing a corset or lace up top he can practice on go to a habdashery and pick up a load of the ribbon similar to the one lacing up your dress andget him to help you put it on and take it off similar to your dress - plenty of practice and you have plenty of options to turn it fun for him as well if you're up for it xxx

Mine is a corset back, and my husband didn't come up to our suite until an hour after I did/ I spent 45 minutes getting out of it myself haha. If there had been a camera on the wall filming it, it would have been hilarious.

I'm not worried about this as my dress is lace up and 2 years ago I was bm for h2bs sil and I wore a lace up dress. H2b was best man and after being one of the last people to go to bed h2b was eager to get me out the dress, but he took his time - took all my hair pins out before starting on the dress - took him 15mins to get it all done and think that was half the fun for him - like a kid unwrapping his present!
