I wanted something a little different for our save the date cards. Instead we opted to do fridge magnets and my wedding photographer came to take what we wanted and well.....I love it! What do you girls think?
CommentAuthor*KelBel*
One of my best friends did it as everyone has a fridge so they're gonna see it all the time, it's a great idea xx

Awww what an absolutely gorgeous photo! Really love it, your dogs are soo cute :) wish our dog would sit still and do something like that. He'd probably just try and eat the chalkboard! Fridge magnets are an excellent idea x

Can I ask where everyone got their magnets? Everywhere I have seen them they're quite expensive.

We got ours through v1sta and I think they were about £30 for about 50 magnets xxx

Thank you guys means a lot, I am so so happy with the pic! Dogs were stars although took a few attempts haha
I ordered plastic cases off eBay then just bought prints, was cheapest way I could find! Then hoping left over ones use to put wedding day pics etc for gifts after? Did originally want printed magnets but Yer I wanted cheap as possible and not too small
CommentAuthorCarrieD26
I thought about buying magnetic strips and attaching them to business card type invites, never thought of the plastic casing! Thank you.

Thats a gorgeous photo! I was thinking of doing something similar but wasn't sure how much it would cost and do people normally send save the dates AND invites? How much is it costing for your save the dates to be made as magnets? x
CommentAuthorHazelM69
The whole thing is costing us about £30 for 50 save the dates which includes the plastic casing magnets, envelopes to post and print the pics
So pleased you guys like them sending them out next week but was desperate to show someone :-D love you all
CommentAuthorJessica29792
Are you sending invites as well as save the dates or just checking who is definitely attending a few weeks before? Our wedding is a midweek wedding so I am thinking of sending save the dates as well as invites but not sure whether people would be annoyed or not x
CommentAuthorHazelM69
Yer mine is on a Friday so sending save the dates to people attending whole thing and then invites to all 6 months before as will have more info on invites for people than just the date.....I love receiving wedding invites so I assuming other people will enjoy it too haha

Jessica, I think it's the norm to send save the dates and invites.. not everyone sends save the dates, but I would always send an invite! You need to ask people if they have any dietary requirements etc. which would be included on the invites anyway.
We're not sending save the dates as it's just close friends and family coming to our wedding, so they know when it is already! Just sending invites in January for a June wedding x

Oh I love these! Well done doggies! So clever! I'm just looking at save the dates now, it's also a good indication before sending out the actual invites if people already can't come they hopefully might let me know so I can swap someone else in before sending out invites! How long before the wedding are people asking for the rsvps by on the invite?

Ahh that's OK then. I have seen some lovely vintage style luggage tags on the bay of e which I have just ordered. 50 tags for 2.50 plus free postage! Bargain. All I will need to do is write the date and our names on the reverse side, the top side says "every once in a while, in the middle of an ordinary life, love gives us a fairytale." x
CommentAuthorCarrieD26
Oh Jessica, that is beautiful. It actually brought tears to my eyes!!!
CommentAuthorJessica29792
Thank you! You can't go wrong for the price. It is quite fitting with out vintage theme and I am wanting to do a few small subtle disney touches as well like our wedding cake I am planning on getting a glass dome to put on the top with a rose in and petals down the side of the cake x

Aww I am glad everyone liked your save the dates Hazel. They really were lovely! I received my save the dates last week I think but I am a while off sending them haha. I think this time next year I will send them out and then it gives me another 6 months to prepare the actual invites and to get those sent out. When are you planning on sending your invites out? x
CommentAuthorHazelM69
Planing on march 6 months before big day. I am the most inpatient person in the world and have already strted making them haha

Hazel, I have 19 months to go and I have just started making our invitations!! Better to be organised - hopefully means less stress the closer it gets to the wedding! xx

You guys make me feel sooo much better lol The wedding is on Feb/17 and I'm thinking if I should start doing things like invitations and save the date lol
By the way, I'm completely in love with your "save the date" <3
CommentAuthorCarrieD26
Things like invitations are the things you can do really well in advance and store, so you don't have to think about it further down the line.
I also have 19 months to go and have ordered things for making our invitations.
CommentAuthorFlossie
It's always good to be organised but my main worry about doing things too far in advance was 'what if I change my mind?' My taste has already changed so much in the past year alone.. you might do something now but then find a better idea and regret it xx

Yeah, I definitely think some things are best left if you might change your mind.
Invitation wise I have gone for a simple design that we can easily put together ourselves that incorporates our colours. I won't even look at other ideas now.
I think lots of women have known exactly what they want since they were small girls. I am not one of them!
