Saw this in the newspaper the other morning! Does anyone think this is bonkers?

Many women have dreamt of their wedding dress since they were young girls. But having the world’s longest train for their wedding dress is presumably not what most women have in mind.Bride to be, Jing Mei from Chengdu in south west China, spoke of her and her partner’s world record breaking wedding idea: ‘It started off as a mad idea and then we thought we could actually make it happen.‘We’re both delighted with the result and we are definitely going to contact the Guinness World Records to get them to agree that this is an official record breaking dress.’The train is three miles long and will require 40 bridesmaids on the special day. The 3-mile-long train weighs 50kg  and will require 40 bridesmaids to carry it on their special day.Her husband-to-be, Yuan revealed the dress cost the couple £4,000, approximately a year’s wages for the average Chinese worker, adding: ‘It is her day, so what she says goes.’

WOW!! I am looking for a wedding dress with a train myself, but that is absolutely nuts! I bet that is going to get very frustrating very quickly on the actual day!

Omg really. Lol sounds like it's more about breaking recorders than the actual dress.

Hahaha, I did want a "killer train" and had what I thought was a longish one, mine was approx 1 metre long.

Anything longer is just not practical. I feel sorry for her bridesmaids. 40 is a lot of bridesmaid dresses to buy.

My god, that is crazy! I could never do that, it would take away so much attention from your dress and I am sure her dress was beautiful as well! x

That train is ridiculous i wouldn't want one longer than my own veil as mine will be long enough it passes the dress by a little bit already trains can be annoying as it is having to hold them on your arm or put a bustle in your dress to hold the veil Xxx

I agree it doesn't even look nice. Looks like a long strip of chiffon stuck to the back of the dress.
