Evening ladies.. just a little thought. Getting married in my hometown of Bristol and living in kent i'm wondering where is best to get my dress from? If I get it in Bristol then its already up there and my mum can store it til the big day etc but means travelling up there for trying on and fittings etc. If I get it here I can go trying on whenever my mum visits and its nearer for fittings but then im going to have to get it up to Bristol before the wedding and I have no where to put it here until I do that I trust it wont be touched by little fiddly children's fingers!..
How many fittings are generally done usually?

I'm not sure on how many fittings you need, but, personally, I would get the dress closer to where you live and get it transported to Bristol. Some bridal shops will let you keep the dress at the shop until you're ready to collect it (not always though!) Or you could keep it at someone elses place. It'll also save you money on travelling to and from Bristol if you do have to have a few fittings. x

I agree with Mrs T Hurley 2B. I'd get it in Kent babe. You can always get a special box to transport it in. Mine went all the way to Vegas and back in one LOL!

I only had a couple of fittings, but it depends on how much alteration is needed. You'll need to store it for the last few days regardless of where you get it. I'd go with wherever is easier for you to do the initial looking around and trying on.

30th August 2014 was the best birthday ever.
It was the day that I became Mrs. Dixon.

I bought my dress in January. It came in march. And is staying in the shop until June next year when I get married. It will probably be easier for you to have it close to you and hopefully the shoo will store it until you are ready to travel up xx
