I've never thought of it, but I would probably prefer to avoid it. It would probably indicate that the dress is too tight. However if you have a veil it would probably cover it.

30th August 2014 was the best birthday ever.
It was the day that I became Mrs. Dixon.

I dislike it a lot and incredibly worried about it, hence I haven't got a strapless dress and my mum is on back-roll watch the entire day :)

Not a fan, but I found it hard to avoid; we had to lace my dress up just right as too tight = lots of back cleavage and too loose = didn't feel secure enough. Ended up going for a happy medium where it was tight with a tiny bit of back cleavage lol. I should also add that I'm not big: 5'7" and 8 1/2 stone/size 8. It's just one of those things.

You don't want the back cleavage that looks like you've purposely ordered a size too small! I do think though that its going to have to be tight for it be secure or you'll be pulling it up all day or having it redone in the toilets lol. My dress needs taking in a lot so I don't know what mines gunna look like yet, but Ill probably expect a little bit. Barbie, as you've had your day already, sounds strange but do you think its one of those things you can 'tuck in'? haha?! In all fairness though, I imagine it'll probably be the last thing on your mind though and you can't see your back anyway!

You'd expect a little bit for the reasons said above, but I wouldn't purposely try to have back cleavage and certainly wouldn't think it was a particularly good thing to have!

I guess you could depending on how much of it there is and how much room there is lol. I've found a couple of photos from the back, one pre-ceremony, and then one after it was massively loosened (I could barely breathe lol so only lasted until after the wedding breakfast before I asked my bridesmaid to loosen it ;-) ); I've popped them in my album, you can see a bit of 'spillage'/cleavage, I don't think it looks too bad though!

I had a slight crease. Unless your back is very taught/toned, you may find you get a slight crease, particularly if your dress is tight (mine was strapless and I didn't want to be pulling it up during the ceremony, so I had it laced pretty tight); as I said, I'm pretty slim but still had a crease and 'spillage' lol. Maybe try it on again and play around with how tight you have it laced?

This is one think im really worried about!! I dont want it! I dont mind a little as explained above, but if i have loads then im not gonna be happy! Im not exactly skinny, size 16 usually and i bought my dress in the sale. It fastens but feels really tight and i have awful back boobs! Im getting married on 1st november so im having a meeting with the seamstress next weekend to get it let out a little, 1 so i can breathe and eat and 2, so i dont have as much back boob! Out of all my wedding planning, this is whats stressing me out lol x

Hmm, think the dress is too tight if you have back cleavage and I personally don't like it.

This came up on that bbc programme the other week where the larger ladies ran the bridal store for big ladies in Essex. They said its your dress not fitting properly and also your dress not being laced up properly if it's a back lace, if it's too tight at the bottom it all squishes over the top!..

Sprucey, that makes sense as when you watch programmes and the larger ladies have corset backs, when they are put in them properly they don't have back fat.

I don't think you should cover with a veil at all... Just get a dress that fits! Nobody I know keeps a veil in all day, ppl drag on it so you end up taking it out so your hair stays nice x

Plus veils are usually thin enough for you to see detail on your dress through it, so you'd still ee your back as well. Just need to ask the shop to show somebody how to lace it up properly. My shop told me to bring the person I want to tie me up to come to my fittings x

its not always about 'getting a dress that fits' one of my best friends is a size 8 and just from the style of wedding dress she had the top part had a slight bit of bunch and she is far from on the larger size. and iv been to several weddings where the brides have kept the veils on to the end! just like i will, my veil is up to my elbow so nobody will be 'dragging on it'.

my dress was a perfect fit and I still ended up with a slight crease. Its bound to happen with some of the dress designs, its just one of those things x
