I've made my own stationary (Invites, RSVP, Table Names, Table plan, programme, thank you cards... everything!) within photoshop. It's a silver background with a navy blue text and decoration. Everything is ready to be printed off once dates and times are confirmed, but I was wondering what paper should I print off with?

What kind of card? I'm assuming silver would be good, but which is the best kind to print in a regular printer?
Or would it be easier printing them elsewhere?

I think standard printers can only print a certain thickness so check your printer and pick card under that. I brought 300gsm card and it's perfect for mine :) I would Def buy silver as it will save in the ink plus the card will go a little soggy xx

Thanks, SamiH68! I'll have a look at various different card sizes and see what my printer is capable of. Is ink another important aspect? Do I need to choose different ink?

I think I may have to print some off to check!

If the paper is sheen the ink might take awhile to set or you might smudge it so I would definitely do a few testers. Can you get Matt silver paper or would that just be grey lol. Also if you are buying online make sure the paper is double sided. When I was looking at silver and gold paper it was only on one side!? Xx

I used ivory 200gsm card and it's got a lovely smooth finish. We've nearly finished our invites :)

I would suggest doing a few testers with various types of paper and inks etc. Don't go straight in and try to print loads off at once :)

i managed to get my card through my father in laws printer but while i was sorting some of them out i noticed the ink was rubbing off as the kraft card didnt soak the ink up well it kind of just sat on the top :( be careful or just print one as a trial then see what you think x

I'm using 6x6 card blanks that I bought from Hob Craft - did a few test ones and they've come out quite well so I'm happy - saving me a ton of money thank god!! Need to get some 8x8 instead for the actual invites as writing small on the template i found :) xx
