Wedding Forum - Petite bride...

Hi all
I am only 4ft11 and am worried about getting a wedding dress to fit. I have been and tried on dresses and the lady at the bridal shop recommended the petite essence of Australia range as this could be made to measure. She said that if I went for dresses out of the non petite range I would lose a lot of the detail of the dress and it may not sit as well when hemmed and altered. I'm going for the fishtail style as this was the only style that really suited me.

So I suppose my question is to the petite brides out there is did you have to go for specifically petite dresses or were they ok once altered.
Any help is much appreciated. X

^ I agree im only 5.1 and aslong as your not picking a dress with lots of detail at the bottom should not be a problem, my dress i have got you could pick to have it in a shorter length (for a price, which confused me as there using less fabric) but was pointed out to me that would still most likely have to have it shortned further for it to be right.

If you are going to fishtail then you will have to make sure that the whole of the bottom of the dress doesn't have too much detail on it as they will have to alter the top of the fishtail too to make sure it sits in the right position on your leg but as long as it is plain or a plain lace style then it would be completely doable xxx
