Hey ladies, just wondering what you were all doing - we are having Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol. I am worried because we dont usually go out slow dancing - so do we just do a slow sway thing (tried it and I feel its a bit high school disco and we dont cover much of the dance floor) but I am not sure about doing anything fancy either since its not really us and I will worry about forgetting it. Are you planning on swaying or doing proper steps? Are you really not bothered? Are you practising?

Our song is Fleetwood Mac's Songbird. H2b is not a dancer at all so we are having some simple choreography put together for us so we are not just shuffling around :)

We want to do something choreographed after the first dance to get everyone up and dancing, but for the actual first dance we will probably just float around the dance floor swaying lol. I think it's nice just to have that 'moment' with each other without having to worry about remembering steps xx

I suggested we sway and get a shortened version - do a few spins etc. Then we got break into cha cha slide because h2b is called Chris Cross so matches the lyrics LOL he wasnt up for that x

We've got a friend who teaches dance who is putting something together for us. I have a limited background in ballet, but H2B has no training. Our friend has come up with something simple but effective.

I'm thinking more of the photographs, people won't really remember that you just swayed, but I've briefed oh that we need to make sure we get in plenty of nice poses for the photo's. My sister is a photographer and I have seen some very awkward pictures for the first dance where people are holding each other at arms length ect. so it's holding tight and loving glances.... and smiling at each other lol

I think the photographs would be lovely with just natural shots as well though, rather than 'poses'.

Have to say I think we will be having a mini practice as I have seen my H2B moves on the dance floor and if anyone has watched friends imagine Chandler lol We most prob will be more swaying but closer to the time we may jazz it up lol

Oh yes, I meant natural lol... I didn't mean we'd be stopping in the dance floor making sure we were posing as such, I just meant as we were dancing making sure we did get some nice shots. I used to really worry about the first dance and looking silly just swaying on the dance floor, but after being at a few more weddings I really don't think it matters, as long as your happy and comfortable together it shows through.
