I've got my first dress fitting tomorrow afternoon, and I'm wondering if I should have the underwear that I will wear on the day. I've looked at basques in a couple of shops, and found something in my size but it doesn't feel entirely right. I'm wondering whether I can wait until I try the dress on again to see what underwear I might want, and whether I want a Basque. I certainly need a bra.

I was told that I needed my underwear for the first fitting because they can't pin it until you have it as different bras and basques will give you a different shape xxx

Ideally you would have your underwear you're planning to wear on the day as they have to start the fitting around that and different underwear gives you a different shape, I would call your dress shop and get advice from them.

Yeah, I was also told I need the Bra I was going to wear for the dress fitting, as it changes the shape and way it sits x
I was told to take my bra - I have my final fitting next week and have never worn my knickers and wont until the day.

I would say so, I have my fitting for alterations at the end of the month and been told to take the top half I'll be wearing on the day, nothing special, just a bra for me as I want to be comfortable x

I would be wearing underwear I would have for the day as I'm a bit big on top and different style bras can make outfits look completely different!

I agree that you need to wear at least the bra and shoes you'll be wearing on the day for the fittings. I did for mine and also when I was a bridesmaid.

u need udnerwear for fitting. bra wise maybe handy to have somehing similar when shopping if u feel u need a bra ...
the seller of my dress got undermine to help me into underskirt i hsd to appologise i was wearing a thong she said its fine shes had much worse of being under a dress of ladies who wear no underwear

I was told to get the underwear I planned to wear for the fitting as well. I also got told to tell the lingerie shop that I was purchasing it for my wedding dress and sometimes if it does not fit under the dress they can exchange it. I wouldn't want to personally. WIth my dress turned out I only needed knickers as I went braless as my dress was heavily boned so after the first time I never wore my wedding knickers again.
