I am really struggling for a theme. I know that are colours are burgundy and blue (Aston Villa FC colours) but I have not got a clue for a theme, or do I just go with the colours and match the decorations/centrepieces etc with this xxx

You don't have to have a theme, we didn't have one but as we've been planning, we've ended up having one themed things to match us. My new name will be Swan, so I've ended up buying placeards with a swan on, personalised cake topper, love heart favours (with a swan instead of love heart). I also live anything with a bow on, and I've got a bow on my shoes, BMs dresses and other accessories. Don't worry if you don't have one, you could end up with one without realising like me.
Lots of people seem to go for butterflies, vintage, or seasonal themes if that gives you any ideas. Xx
We are just having our colours, tho our guests might think were having a diamante theme as I seem to be adding gems to anything that stays still long enough at the mo lol xx

I'm having a theme (Alice in Wonderland) but that doesn't mean you have to. Just go with your colour scheme and expand from there :-)

When I told my mil my colours she was very rude and said that I could not have a football themed wedding. Firstly its just the colours, secondly if we decided to have a football theme then we will (we don't lol). Think I will stick with colours at the moment and like you said a theme may come from that xxx

we're having a tv and film theme, and our colour scheme is royal blue - as has been said though, you don't really need a theme, you can just match your colours to your décor... though my décor doesn't match my colour theme at all... infact none of them even match each other.
basically, you can do what you want and balls to what anyone else thinks!
