Does anyone know of anywhere I can get a nice cake that isn't over £200 in the Tyne & Wear area?
Thank you =] xx

Have you got any friends or family members that like baking? We're getting friends to make ours, different layers made by different people.
30th August 2014 was the best birthday ever.
It was the day that I became Mrs. Dixon.

My mam has actually made some beautiful cakes over the years but for some reason she doesn't think she is good enough and I didn't want to put any more stress on her. everywhere I have seen the cakes are mega expensive. x
We had a three tier M&S cake and decorated with fresh flowers, it was lovely.

I was thinking of getting the m&5 cakes too and getting my mum to decorate it but was worried it wouldn't look right. But it sounds like it works out much cheaper. How are you decorating it?
CommentAuthorJoD96
It works out a lot cheaper if you just go for the normal sponge or fruit which I am doing as I want a simple cake and I'm just going for a ribbon in my colour scheme, some flowers to sit on the layers and a cake topper
CommentAuthorMrs W..2B..X
Think I am going to go simple some ribbon maybe some small flowers and a little few pearls or something. X

To make it even cheaper, you can get polystyrene dummy cakes and cover those in the same way, then you have loads more tiers but without the cost - just remember to cut the real one on the day! We're doing this as I'm making it myself (for my allergies) but its less stress to only have one real tier to the cake and a load of un decorated cakes in the kitchen for serving.
