Hi everyone, I currently have a gold engagement ring with a Ruby stone. How do I go about a wedding ring? Do they have to match and if so can anyone suggest a particular style. I am confused but I love Ruby stones and they have a personal meaning to me. Many thanks for your help! :) xx

They don't have to match, but it's probably best to go for either the same gold, or a white gold or silver, as two shades of yellow or rose gold might clash. You don't need a jewel on your wedding ring,a plain band will work with anything. It would be a good idea to go to a jeweller and try some rings on next to your engagement ring to see what fits.

They don't need to match but you should go for the same metal as they will rub together. I'm having diamond 1/2 eternity ring as my wedding band :-)

I'd go for the same metal and you could always have just a plain band? X

Nope as long as you go for the same metal; My e-ring has a sapphire and diamonds on it yet my wedding ring just has diamonds and fits around it :)

There's no rules, just have what you like. I would choose a ring that compliments your engagement ring though

I have an 18ct white gold engagement ring, and a 14ct white & yellow gold wedding ring. The jewellers said that 14ct & 18ct would be ok together.
