OKay, so at first I thought it wasn't a big deal but the more I talk to folk and read on here, the more I think I might be being a little crazy...

I'm really not bothered with what shoes I'm wearing during the day of my wedding (I have a shorter dress for the night do so have some lovely Irregular Choice shoes).

A lot of people have asked me what shoes I'm wearing for the wedding day and I just answer "meh, not sure, haven't decided yet" and that gets a crazy response from people like I've gone bonkers because I'm not fussed about shoes.

Should I be more bothered? I'm quite an alternative, unconventional sort of person so the little kitten hell sling-back bridal shoes most people seem to want to show me really just don't do anything for me. Now I'm paranoid!

What are all your guys attitudes regarding wedding shoes?

I'm not really much a shoe person either! Hwwever I am getting slightly more into it since I decided I want a bow on them (I have a thing for bows!) and/or turquoise shoes!

Personally I dont think it matters if you're not bothered about shoes, but you might also suddenly come across an idea that you love and want to find like me :)

    Hi CJ

I hate shoe shopping....being 6ft and a size 8-9 (usually 9) makes it a unpleasant experience most of the time! So imagine my horror at having to find wedding shoes - no way was i going to get "bridal" shoes in a 9, plus why would I want shoes i'll never wear again?
I wanted to have electric blue shoes, and found a pair of small heel ones at a high street shop which i have bought for £24.
Plus I needs small heels otherwise my dress will be too short!
So, i dont think you need to be bothered about shoes - they're just shoes :-)
the only requirement really is that theyre comfy!

I'm totally ith you on not being a shoe person - I currently own about 6 pairs and most of those are trainers for the gym. For the wedding I'm actully wearing a pair of shoes that my Mum bought for me years ago because they're an aubergine colour which is my favourite - aubergine is the main colour of our wedding (no surprised for anyone there) so I didn't see the point in buying new shoes.

I thought I was going to treat myself to a pair of Ch005 or G1n@ shoes for our wedding but then I found a lovely pair that were so unbelievably comfortable and were just so"me". They were on promo in d3b3nh@m5 and I got an additional 10% off. Everyone couldn't believe me when I told them because I'm big into shoes. They were just perfect and matched my dress perfectly.

Have whatever shoes are perfect for you xxx

i barely wear heels - last time fell over and broke my foot! i would however like to wear heels for the wedding but need to learn to walk in them properly (clearly - hence the broken foot), i've read just buy them early and practice walking around the house and that will also break them in a bit. A bit worried about paying out for shoes then finding them ridiculously uncomfortable. Ideally want yellow sandals for the wedding and mint ballet pumps for the dancing. But think i need to start looking now to allow time to practice!

I'm obsessed with shoes and have been even since I was a small child; I bought my first pair of Ch00s at just 15, and now own quite a few designer pairs (mainly Ch00 and G1na with a couple other makes thrown in). So for me, the shoes were honestly just as important as the dress; I'd had my heart set on a pair of G1nas for literally years, and they were my first wedding purchase. I also have a pair of Ch00s, and will wear the Ch00s during the day and the G1nas for dancing in the evening. I'll be able to wear both pairs again.

If you're not into shoes though then obv it's totally different, so I don't really get why people are shocked that you don't care :-s Esp as usually people don't see the shoes anyway. In that case I'd just go for comfort, and something you like; you don't need to spend a fortune.

I love shoes and would really have liked a designer pair for the day but I decided for a sale pair of Dbnhams bridal shoes for £15. No one will see my feet and they are comfy. I will save the designer ones for our anniversary or a birthday when I cant think of anything else for him to get me :) after 7years I am struggling already!

I guess it depends if you're a shoe person usually or not. I am but my moh isn't and totally doesn't get me having a pair of jimmy Choos for the wedding, she just thinks i could get 10 pairs for that price in B4rrets! Lol

For me though shoes are a big deal and a lot of my friends know this - after saying congrats etc I know it will be the first thing they ask 'show us the shoes then!'

I'm not a big shoe person either, but I do pay a lot of attention to comfort, and they have to have room for my orthotic inserts (I have flat feet and back problems). I went for something simple with just a small heel, as I don't like heels really. For my brother's wedding I'm a bridesmaid and we have 8 cm heels, so I'm practicing in my bedroom.

I'm a massive shoe person, I always say as a curvy girl whose weight fluctuates as much as the weather lol that shoes r my one constant ;) I always said id be married in a pair of L0ub0ut1ns!! However, after choosing a long dress and realising really no one is going to see them, I said if just wear anything! I found a CUTE lace up pair in BH5 and so many people have complimented them they were £35! Haha so I'll save my money to get some l00bys I can wear every day instead ;) xx oh and it's flip flops in the evening for me with all the other guests (we are doing the basket thing!) Xx

I'm not the biggest shoe person, live most days in trainers but am looking forward to wearing some nice dainty shoes on the day. Haven't found them yet as still sorting the dress, but I only want a small heel so I don't trip over myself! I'm thinking flip flops in the evening for comfort and I plan to have a long dress so they won't be seen much.

I usually am a very enthusiastic show person in my everyday life, I have multiple pairs of creepers, irregular choice and even a few pairs of shoes without heels (I looooove them!), but when it came to the wedding I just figured no one would be able to see them so I'd just get anything really.

I think I may have found a couple of pairs on the Bay of e but i'll decide nearer the time I reckon :) thanks for all your imput gals, I looove reading about peoples shoes!

OK, i thought I would jump on the end of this thread. I HATE shoes I am forced to wear them due to constraints of society. If I can I would walk round with no shoes on at all.

So I need advice what type of shoes would be best?
I cant remember when i wore heels last but need to as my dress will drag on the floor if I dont wear little ones.

was thinking some flipflops for evening.

PS sorry for hijacking the tread CJGROOVE

    no worries!!

You can get wedge flipflops, they're very fashionable and very, very comfortable! :)

but if you're thinking of something a little more *tradish* try little wedges, theyre super comfy without being proper heels :)

I really don't like the idea of small heels - I would have to opt for that as i'm nearly the same size as my h2b. I'm told though that you are advised to have a heel as you walk differently in them compared to flats?
