Did you have a contract with her? That's really bad of her this close!

Could you not buy off the peg?

No, she wanted a deposit in Jan but didn't contact me. She was measuring in july. I contacted her asking for a sample of the material and then she gets back to me saying her and her business partner have decided to stop doing it. They were doing it from home xx

That's such a pain. See if any local bridal shops have a sample that you like. Six months is tight for ordering. Or look on the bay. There's a website that I found that does dresses for both bride and bridesmaid at reasonable cost and quite quickly. Your profile is restricted so I'll post it on my wall. I haven't used them myself, they're a back up in case my MOH doesn't have time to make the bridesmaid dresses, but she's confident she can do it.

Rust is really bad, if there not going to do it any more they should at least finish orders they have already taken specially with orders with such short time till the date needed, they should just not take any new orders.

Aww that's really rubbish, so sorry to hear that.

I'm guesing as you're having it made you're after a certain style? Like the others have said it may be an idea to go into dress shops and talk to them in there about your situation. Other than that i can suggest going on the bookface and looking for local (or not if you are wiling to travel) dress shops having sample sales, you may find a beautiful dress at a fraction of the cost.

    Keep us updated.
