    Hi all,

So, my sister in laws best friend is supposedly designing our stationary and supplying our wedding favours which my dad's going to print at his work. Situation is, I have sent her ideas probably about 6-8 weeks ago and asked her for a rough estimate of cost for that and the favours which I doubt she will give us much of a mates rates if any as it is her own business so if anything it is more of a business ask than a favour. So I have been very nicey nicey in my asking her and chasing her so far and told her we did need them for budget reasons but I am yet to get the answer. She has responded but the last response was "sorry Hun but do you mind if I have a look at this further after Mother's Day as business is manic at the moment" so of course I said yes fine no problems. A week after Mother's Day , still nothing! I am starting to looks elsewhere now as I think if it is just for chasing an estimate how's it going to beg ettington he invites. She clearly deems this unimportant in my eyes. How do you recommend that I approach the subject with her now? I just think her next response will be "can I look after Easter as I'm manic" then it's never ending and ridiculous and I'm not prepared to keep being a walk over. I've not been overly pushy and as it's my sis in laws best mate I don't feel I can get too arsey!

Help please - very much appreciated! Xx

I would send an email/speak with her and be honest with her and say you need to know ASAP but if it's not possible as it sounds like she has been busy and you don't want to put the pressure on her if she already has other couples that she is working with.

I would even say that you have started to look else where just in case.

I agree with mrs t! The other thing is that you've got a year til the wedding. I've noticed that I want things sorted but other people think that there's ages to go so don't worry! But you may need to get save the date cards out early etc so just ring her, say it's stressing you and that thought you'd love her to do the stationary if it's causing problems would she prefer you to go somewhere else? Good luck xx

You've got a year, to go so no rush but I would shop around and tbh from experience I really wouldn't ask anyone connected to you or family to work for your wedding! X

Maybe you could ask your sister in law to chase her up?

    Thanks everyone for responses :)

I know I have a year to go but I'm not asking her to design them yet just to give me an estimate for budget purposes. That's what's worrying me most that even a price is taking more than 2 months!

I think I will put it like that though and give her the option to agree I should go elsewhere... Thanks ladies xx

I think you have it sorted what you are going to do; I'd be the same. You only want an estimate so surely she could have given you that a while ago as I'm sure she knows what things cost to make e.t.c
