Not sure if it's because we want a fuss free, stress free and unwanted guest free wedding but with just over 6 months to go I feel like there's not much to do (or stress about)! Is this normal??? We're sort of at a point where it's too early to do much else - registry office and venue booked, dress bought, suits found, rings bought, bridesmaids and best man accepted, notice of marriage given, songs chosen. I'm very excited but it seems so far away (even though I know it isn't really!) Too early to get BM dresses (although will be doing that in next couple of months I think). Invited are ordered and guest list more or less sorted. We're not having a professional photographer or a flashy car so they don't need booking. Feeling very chilled out about it all - but that's making me wonder if there's something Im missing. Got a florist sorted who obviously isn't needed until much nearer the time. Cake is just going to be bought as a plain iced cake and decorated ourselves. Can't get my youngest sons suit as he's 11 and obviously his size is changing all the time, same goes for youngest BM and flower girl. Men are hiring their suits so obviously can't do that until nearer the time...

    Rings?
    Postbox?
    Candy Buffet?
    shoes?
    accessories?
    lingerie?
    first night hotel?
    guestbook?
    entertainment/dj?
    honeymoon?
    catering?

er....thats off the top of my mind as to what you have left out of the post...
Have you thought about asking your local college for a photographer? you can get them from college reasonably cheap so long as you let them use your wedding as part of their portfolio?

Rings are bought already. Not having a candy buffet, the reception includes a buffet and a disco and our room for the night. Shoes are bought. Not got accessories or lingerie yet - but excited about getting that bit ;-) Honeymoon is being sorted by the future MIL. Not thought about a guestbook - must add that to the list thanks.
Good idea about asking the local college - will give them a call today and see what they say. My future MIL didn't have a photographer at her wedding and her other son took most of the photo's - they're fab, very natural but good quality - and obviously free! I spent a fortune on a photographer at my first wedding and although there are one or two great pics - the rest were pretty rubbish really - run of the mill photo's that I could have done myself - and all very staged. I much prefer natural and relaxed photo's which will reflect the type of day we want too! Thanks hun - some good idea's xx

I was like you would have little productive phases then would feel like i had nothing to do for a bit
You could look into favours and thank you gifts if you haven't already just to keep you busy or start picking music so you don't have the last minute just need to pick something I'm having now

We've pretty much sorted music out apart from the first dance. Got BM's a little thank you gift already but want something to go with it so that's something I can be doing. Favours - not sure what to do to be honest - we're not having a wedding breakfast, getting married at 17.30 and going straight into the evening do. Found some little choc's that we can have our names and date printed on that I will put on the tables but think that'll probably do. There's no official seating plan or anything.

I would maybe considering looking at BM dresses anyway. They say you need about 4 months but I wouldn't cope with worry incase they didn't turn out right or something happened that needs a fix. I'm not getting married until Easter 15 but I'm wanting to look next month.

We had a lull in planning things once everything had been booked and paid deposits for until nearer the big day when you suddenly get a rush of activity again because there is a period when you have done what you can do for now and it's too early to do others things x
