I keep seeing the moderators redirecting questions to the official weight loss category, but I just can't find it! So I've posted here, since it is, after all, about trying to fit into my dress!
I have been thinking about going the personal training route, and have some questions to ask, if anyone else out there has tried it.
I feel like I'm getting my eating habits under control, but I've still got 6 stone to lose, and low-cal soups on their own aren't going to cut it.
So, for someone as gym phobic as me (I've face planted a treadmill before) do you think a personal trainer might be the answer? I am motivated, I'm just clueless- the world of exercise is entirely new to me. I'd really love some professional input- I feel that a trainer might be able to set me up with a healthy routine that I'll be able to follow on my own afterwards. It'd also be great to get some input on the diet I'm on.
BUT! I have so many questions about this... It'd be great if any of you have experience/ recommendations?
- is it horribly painful? - is it embarrassing? I really don't want to be fat-shamed onto a treadmill! - is it expensive? (I've got a whole wedding to pay for!) - does it take over your whole life? I mean- the most convenient would obviously be to just be able to do it from home - is that an option? I mean- does anyone know about any skype session trainers? Is that even a thing?
This is a major change of lifestyle and mindset for me- it'd be so helpful to have some feedback from the community.
Thanks all!
EDIT - ONCE AGAIN WE ASK YOU TO TAKE THIS TO THE OFFICIAL WEIGHT LOSS THREAD ,A MEMBER HAS BUMPED IT UP FOR YOU , CAN I SUGGEST THAT YOU BOOKMARK THE THREAD SO YOU CAN FIND IT AGAIN EASILY.

There isn't a separate weightloss category, but there is a weight loss thread within this category ("getting into the dress"). I'll bump it up. I've often thought that if I had the money I'd be tempted to try a personal trainer, so if you can spare the cost I would say give it a go. From what I've heard from friends it sounds like you will get very achy at first, but then the muscles will adapt. Some trainers will allow you a trial session just to give it a go.
30th August 2014 was the best birthday ever.
It was the day that I became Mrs. Dixon.
