Ok, so I got my dress as an ex sample & has been hanging in my wardrobe. I figured I'd wait a while & get it altered around the bust (too big) closer to the day, as it fit fine elsewhere when I bought it.

I tried it on today out of curiosity to see if my hard work in the gym had paid off to fit my hips & tum in (put on a couple of pounds over Christmas) and it doesn't fit - around the thighs though!! Tum & hips fit in fine!!

I have no fat on my thighs, so don't have any to lose from them - maybe its because I've been doing stepper/cross trainer to lose the weight?? I really enjoy those exercises though as they help me keep the weight off, but seemingly is bulking my legs up?

So now I don't know what to do...
If I need to get another dress I really need to betting that sorted pronto!

    *feel daft...*

You've obviously built up muscle on your thighs, stop working out n you'll lose the muscle pretty quick but then you'll also gain the weight you lost so it's a no win situation :/ xx

Is there enough leeway in the seams to be able to take it out at the thighs a little bit? Xx

Swimming, is the best option instead of doing the stepper etc right now. The swimming will keep your weight loss and stop you gaining, it will also work more muscle groups rather than just those in your thighs. This way, you will begin to lose the bulk you have managed to build on your thighs but through calorie controlled diet, not gain weight. It is worth speaking to one of the personal trainers at the gym you go it if they have them, or speak to your local swimming pool owners and get their input!

Thanks Susie, I'm a terrible swimmer - all splash and no go.
I'm not confident in water at all...
Maybe I'll get a session with a personal trainer as you suggest, they're the pro's after all.
    Thanks!

I would say the stepper should probably be cut out!! Cross trainer (for me at least) seems to fat-burn my whole body and the only place I notice it builds muscle is around the calf area, so I would think that is okay? If you do squats/lunges etc. I would also stop them in the meantime. Susie is right - ask a PT and swimming is great exercise! It will tone you nicely, rather than build muscle. Also, you could concentrate on upper body, stomach and back for now if you're in the gym in addition to the swimming? If you're using a lot of free weights or weighted machines - remember, 12-15+ reps per set is advisable if you're not building muscle and want to tone/fat burn.

Also AmyK, if you don't like swimming - you could do aquajogging (with an instructor) or aquarobics, or try yoga (they always seem to have amazing bodies?) or pilates, or a kickboxing class (all body workout).

Nah, stepper etc will make you leaner. Maybe the dress shrunk or is sitting differently.
