    Hi everyone,

I'm getting married next year in a hotel, the room itself is very nice neutral colours, bay windows etc. All white table linen is provided but I'm getting someone to dress the room for me. I'm having a meeting with them tomorrow but feel a bit uninspired.

    I'm thinking:
    Chair covers with sash
Front of top table cake table decoration..not sure what
Flower trees that will sit in ceremony room then move to banqueting room
    Some sort of backdrop lighting

Table centre pieces are being done by oh mum

I'm rubbish at this so can anyone give me a hard shove in the direction of what else I might want/need to make the room look great.

Also what questions should I ask

    Thanks in advance x

For the front of top table and cake table, what about string lights? Some venue dressers have table surround cloths with lights in them, so they sparkle! There are balloon kits you can get on bay of e, which have pre-cut ribbon lengths and wires for balloon arches.

Definitely ask them if they do starlight backgrounds? They are usually about £250 to hire, and are beautiful!! We are making our own background though, out of a branch and fishing wire, with paper hearts in our colour theme hanging at different heights from it. This is because we are keeping to a smaller budget and have other things to finish paying for like photographer etc!

You can find great inspiration on here, and in the DIY threads on the forum and see what others are doing, or have asked their venue dressers for!

Enjoy planning and enjoy your discussion with the venue dresser, they will also have GREAT ideas for you!!

I like the idea of string lights that would be good, I just haven't got a clue what I want or what will look nice x

    Hi,
If you've not got any ideas in mind already, then I suggest going onto P1nterest and searching "wedding decorations" or "hotel wedding decorations".

I saw loads of great suggestions/photos on there when I was planning my wedding.

Not all of it will be relevant to hotel venue dressing - but it could help give you some ideas x

    Hi,

Thanks for that ill go look at that in a min. Id briefly looked at the brochure the hotel had showing how the room can be dressed but I dunno what I want still. The lady that's coming is lovely though so i'm sure she will be able to guide me. x

I would think if she's good at what she does she will suss out what you want pretty quickly

When I met my florist I thought I knew what I wanted but she showed me lots of things and I went for completely different things and she got me and h2b's taste really quickly x
