I was with one of my BMs and she said I need to buy myself some skin coloured lingerie for the wedding day as white will show up under the dress. There's some lovely white/ivory sets available in the shops but I've not yet come accross any nice skin coloured sets so I was wondering what everyone else is doing - Wearing plain/neutral undies or going with 'bridal' ones and what colour?

i'll be going with bridal ones in ivory my dress is ivory and not anywhere near see through so definitely won't be able to see them xx

I can't see how it will be shown if your dress isn't see through ?? Have you got your dress yet ? If you don't I wouldn't think about lingerie until you do..

The dress has been ordered but won't be here until August/September. I hadn't even thought about underwear until my BM brought it up but just assumed ivory would be ok. The dress has a built in coset so I could get away with just pants but really don't want to have to wear everyday ones. I don't recall the dress being see-through in the slightest but she has made me a little paranoid now.

I'd really wait until it comes :-) By the sounds of it I'm pretty sure you won't be able to see your underwear if it's ivory ! I think ivory will make you feel a lot better in yourself too, I know it can't be seen lol but nude underwear makes me feel meh haha xxx

have you got a see through dress lol?? it really doesnt matter what colour you go for. if you have a corset you probably wont need a bra and you wont see knickers. personally i dont like skin coloured underwear ive got ivory set but wont wear the corset till the night time. i have got a strapless bra for the day though which i tried on with dress at weekend. its is an ivory/skin colour strapless wonderbra which again i got from dhams so you could look at that? if i could have found a nice black set of lingerie i would have wore that underneath for a suprise but couldnt find one i liked and that was special enough x

The BM who got me all worried hasn't even seen the dress so I thought she was saying white underwear showing through a white dress was one of those things that all girls are expected to just know.

oh right ok well all dresses have mutiple layers so you wont see anything at all. i wouldnt worry. i have just tried on my strapless bra with dress 10 weeks before wedding so you dont need to pick anything until dress arrives. see what they say in the shop. they told me not to get a bra as i wont need one with corset but i felt like i needed a little extra x

It will only show if it's sheer/thin. From what you've said it doesn't sound like that applies, so white/ivory undies would be fine.
I'm wearing bridal lingerie, but comfort was my top priority; so while pretty, the bra is still very practical and comfortable. I then have some prettier, less practical sets to wear the following night/on honeymoon.

Ooohhh I hadn't thought of honeymoon undies... was just going to spend the whole time in bikinis! Looks like I get to have a good old girly shopping trip to look forward to!
