so far I know that I would like a mixed vintage crockery afternoon tea style buffet for the reception. Apart from that, I have a list of what I dont want . I dont want bird cages, bunting, butterflies and the things that seem to have turned vintage into a brand sooo, what I would like are some new ideas, elegant, classy, original and different without looking too cliche.
You can see why I need your help, imagination doesnt seem to be flowing any thoughts?

Yeah those are the things I was going to suggest as that is what springs to mind now when people say vintage. How about those wooden hearts that you can get on the bay of e saying 'marriage of Pauline and ?' for example; maybe you could have touch of alice and wonderland to your theme which could link in with the crockery tea style :P

I did this with pearl LED battery operated lights... decorated a kilner jar with white lace/crotchet ribbon and filled with glass pebbles and the lights...
And we lived happily ever after!

im doing these with hessian and lace its a little bit rustic you can decorate jars in loads of ways, just save all your cooking jars and get family and friends to save them too, im buying some hessian and lace and buttons from our local craft shop, hessian is only 3-4 pound a metre :) im going to try some tonight so ill upload some pictures. xx

The above is a great idea!
The r@nge always have bits and bobs on sale or for like £1 so its worth popping in and collating stuff. With shabby chic, the beauty is they don't have to be perfect or be indentical, but share common tones/themes!
