I love this dress and as soon as i saw it i wanted it, then i tried it on since mum and MOH had reservations, although MOH's reservations remained she did say it looked nicer on and mum liked it but still thought another one would be better. The only reason i didnt cry was fear of getting mascara on the dress :P But the dress was out of our price range and a cheaper alternative couldnt be found- even getting it made would have been as expensive. Me and H2B had a massive argument about money when i told him the price of the dress and now i cant help but feel its ruined the dress for me. I still prefer it to any other dress but i want to resist getting it to stop myself from just feeling terrible in it. Due to my newly found reservations i thought i should ask you lovely ladies what you think to the dress and whether i should just keep looking or not x

your dress is beautiful! if the dress is an important part of your day then you should have the one you want. if money is a problem then try and haggle with the shop or search for a second hand dress but you certainly shouldn't settle for another dress is this is the one you love. you look stunning in it xxx

It does suit you but is not to my personal taste, sorry if that is not what you wanted to hear
I also think with just under 2yrs until your wedding, it is too soon to buy the dress as styles change so much from year to year

I appreciate the honesty Elle23, i know it wont be everyones cup of tea, in fact when i started planning this was very far from what i wanted. And i know i have 2 years but with the shop i can get a payment plan and if it really is the one im getting then the sooner i start paying for it the less i have to pay each month really. To me it is really important, I havent always had a lot of confidence and this past year has been one of the worst so i really want something to boost my confidence, make me feel good and to put a smile on my face. I did look at second hand but couldnt find any, I think i may just have to keep looking and if i cant find anything i like more that is within my budget then go for this one as it really did make me feel amazing x

I think it is lovely hun, and I disagree with Elle23, I think if you love it then you should go for it regardless of whether styles change. I got mine with just under a couple of years to go, found it on the bay at a great price and had to go for it, so don't worry about the time until the wedding. Could you try and haggle with the shop? xxx

if it really is the one just go for it! but have a look around if you need to put your mind at rest that it really is the one - try lots on and if you still keep coming back to this dress then have it. to me the dress is one of the most important parts of the day. its the one day where you really can splash out and buy the perfect dress so just do it :) xx

oh yeah, I meant to say about changing styles being irrelevant, if this is the dress you like then it doesn't matter what come out next season does it? I've got mine and there's still at least 2 more seasons of dresses to come out before my wedding but I know mine is 'the one' and nothing will change my mind now!

Im glad you took my comment as it was intended Bryony, I was just giving my view hun, as I said it does def suit you and if you feel amazing in it then go for it!

This is why people post on here, to hear different opinions and views
Great that the shop will offer a payment plan! I would speak to H2B if I were you and see what maybe you could cut back on to allow the extra funds for the dress if it is indeed "The One" xx

RachealH has a point but at the same time; if you love this dress which is really pretty on you then I'd say go for it; it will probably be the most expensive dress you ever buy but it will also be the most important so if you ;love it then go for it; try haggling to get the price down or maybe cut down on something else for your wedding :)

Thank you so much for the advice and support ladies, i will definitely keep looking and trying on dresses just in case tho i do know how picky i am so the fact that there wasnt a single thing i could fault this dress for says something to me. I did ask about buying the sample since it was just a little too big and i wouldnt mind paying the alteration fees with the shop later on but unfortunately at this point in time they are unwilling to sell it- but if i keep looking and still dont find anything then maybe next time i ask they will be willing to let me have it. I do have exactly 2 years today till the big day so plenty of time to either find another or save so i can have it :P

Hiya,i can see thats from berketex bride!?Thats also where i have got my dress from,i got mine last year in the sale and have paid monthly over the last year so now its all paid for.I think that really suits you and looks lovely. What i would say if its from berketex is to ask the lovely ladies in there if it is due to go into the sale (they have sales all the time) .. When i first went to look for dresses they told me to come back the following week as it was the sale and thats when i got mine,if i had got it the week before i would have been paying 3 times what i got it for,And also if you buy a dress from berketex you get 10% off all bridesmaids dresses too :D Id also say to try a few more dresses on just to be completely sure,i tried on about 10 different dresses and as soon as i tried that one on i fell in love with it and none of the others seemed to even come close. Explain to your OH about the repayment plan and im sure he will be fine about it (and they dont add any interest which is a bonus) Hope you find what your looking for!!
    xx

I think you look beautiful in the dress. I also think trying on dresses is part of the fun so i would try as many on as possible and if you love it and cant imagine yourself wearing any other dress on the big day then go for it! I don't really think it matters which season it's from, if you love it then it really doesn't make much difference if its this seasons or 3 seasons ago. When you know, you just know.

I agree with the other ladies, ask about upcoming sales and also ask for a discount, if they can't offer you further discount ask for your alterations to be included in the price as this will save you quite a bit anyway! Also, because you have a little while until your wedding you have the flexibility to pay a bit each month so it won't be too much of a strain right on top of the big day. Xx

the dress is lovely and you look stunning in it. You have nearly 2 years to go so I would hold out to see if it goes in any sample sales most shops go down by at least 50% in the sales some even as low as 75% also ask if you can buy the shop sample instead of having one ordered in as this can reduce the cost also. My dress would have been £1100 but she offered me the shop sample for £700 also check sites that sale them preloved some brides buy then change their minds and need to sale to get a new dress other need to sale because of cancelations so dresses have been unworn might be worth checking a round and keep you eye out x

I think it's a gorgeous dress and it suits you really well, the only thing for me that would mar it is the massive argument over it, I'm sure lots of men don't realise the price of dresses it might have come as a huge shock to him. You have lots of time try some others and if you don't find one that comes close to the way you feel about this dress then go for it.

I think the smile on your face say it all hun, I started off with a budget in mind but after trying on dresses I realised having a budget didn't work for the dress as you need to have whatever you feel amazing in, sit down with your h2b and explain how you feel about that dress, and get your payment plan set up xxxx

I love it! If you love it, hang fire for a bit... like someone has mentioned, you have 2 years til you wed and so have time to shop around and get a better price or save up some more money for it! Tell H2B you'll cut back on some things and get a "wedding fund" piggy bank and put money in it every month for the next year to save!

You may find that you can find a second hand one or sample dress sale that you get it in...

Hi, just to let you know I was in a berketex and this Marcy dress was in the sale, i think there was a size 14 and a size 24, but you could try the store you tried it in. the one i saw was £540-550.
I tried it on and I'm debating going back to buy the size 24, will need taking in as I'm a 20 but I love it despite it not being anything like what i thought I'd go for.
