Ok, so after weeks of messing up, buying and not using and spending a lot of money. I have finally created my prototype wedding stationary.

This DIY stuff is hard work! So here they are (ignore the smudges, the little stamps took a while to get used to!):

These are my two versions of 'save the date' but I dont know which one is best? Any suggestions of changes I can make are most welcomed. In fact any opinions are welcomed good or bad, say it as it is because your responses will help if thery are not very good!

hi, they both look nice but the 2nd one appealed to me more.
I love the card you have used. Just one thing noticed no address on invite/RSVP for the RSVP to be sent to. Have you got it somewhere else when sending out invites?

Thanks to all of you for you help and opinions, getting feedback from my 40 something male isnt always reliable! I could do some of each Velcro, it would mean I didnt buy all the embellishments in vain!

Fiona, I do still have to put in the details of venue/map etc and I'm thinking of including a stamped addressed envelope for the RSVP? Not sure this isnt just another added expense but I'm worried I wont get replies and think no ones coming!

I might make a mark 3, I'll post, see what you lovely people think?! I'm never satisfied eh?! xx

I think I prefer the first save the date.

Reasons: I think the bright pink flower in the middle of the second takes over the whole look a bit. Also think the four small jewels in the corners don't really fit with the rest of the theme. The three in a line on the first look much better, and the style of bow in the corner matches well with the formal invitation RSVP.

Are you using stamps on wooden blocks or those new clear bendy plastic ones which you put on an acylic block to use? If the latter, if you have a large enough arylic block (and more than one set of letters...) you can put the whole text of 'save the date' on at once and stamp the whole thing in one go.

Thanks 'littlemissworry' (great name!) I'm using the individual letter on little wooden blocks, its makes it so difficult as I've got to stamp each letter! I could put each word together then stamp for 'save the date' but I thought it would look better uneven as I've got to use the stamps for the word 'invitation' and they wouldnt look the same.

You are of the same opinion as me with both save the dates. Im not too keen on the bright pink flower. I'm going to have another shot and do simular to the first one, but use the dark pink bow instead xx

As for the save the dates, I prefer the second but I would leave the rose off and keep the look 'cleaner'.

hi Claire - i am putting a map of the venue in with mine so that it shows the main roads leading to the place - using one from g00gle, but the venue website also has a map too. Putting on the directions from the main roads on a card that will be in the pocketfold invite.
Oo i didnt think of sending a SAE, was jsut going to put on our addresses on the invites, but then also enclose an envelope for the reply and the guests can buy the stamps themselves.

haha just had a totally blonde moment as trying to figure out what STD meant and it wasnt "save the date" to begin with !!!!!!!

lol @ Fiona, there is of course another STD but I'm not sending that ha ha!

Yeah I need to put map etc, got to now squeeze some more creativeness to make that! It's taking it all out of me, at least I have a year, I'm acting as if it's a month away! CHILL

Thanks ladies for your votes and compliments, the second one seems to be slightly more favoured so I'm going to tweek that one and see what thats like :) xx
