I can't believe the difference in price. These are my costs so far
£250 Ceremony inc ALL costs (wedding planner is optional for around £300+ but we are doing it ourselves, paperwork is quite straightforward) - Booked
£1,697.00 Package price for all 3 things - 1) 2 hour sunset private yacht charter cruise - for up to 150 people max with Bucks fizz on arrival, glass of champagne for toasts, non-alcoholic drinks for children and selection of canapes. Also includes captain and crew, music, open bar fuel, port tax etc. 2) 4 way journey on the open top Wedding Bus to include pick all guests from villas/hotels to ceremony, then ceremony to yacht via a scenic coastal tour with a glass of champagne, then yacht to evening restaurant and then restaurant to guests villas/hotels...we can also take our own CD'S if we want to play our own selection of music on the Bus Journeys. 3) BMW convertible for bride and bridesmaids from villa to ceremony. - Booked Can give link for company that do all 3 if wanted.
£49 Wedding Insurance - hugely important - paid

£71 - £120 return flights inc taxes etc. I will shop around more but these are some of the best prices. Obviously these are no frills flights but for 4 and half whos its fine for us.
£670 - Villa for 2 weeks to include pool sleeps 6. I found a great site where you book straight with villa owners, great prices and huge choice. Booked
£220 car hire for 2 weeks - not strictly to do with the wedding so was optional but we want to see as much of Cyprus as possbile.
£120 Cake 3 tier same as original bit in different colours that was going to cost £352 in UK - Booked
Obviously there is the dress £95 see photos, bits and bobs etc. Which I will buy here in uk.
We are now working on a budget of just over £5.000 rather than the original £10,000 for the UK wedding that was causing us so much stress, and we have a honeymoon included now! xxx

Our friends got married in Cyprus and it was absolutely gorgeous. The photographer took us to different places, so the photos were amazing. I also like the fact that their taxi's are white limo's, which we just booked the day before and they decorated it in ribbon.

I have to admit that if Kev's parents and family would fly etc then I would have loved to have gone away and it would have been cheaper but we wouldn't get married without them and it is worth paying the extra to have our day with them. I am jealous though as your wedding sounds so fab.

thats fab!!!!
I'd love to have been planning a wedding abroad however ant's mum is scared of travelling over water (albeit in the air or on a boat) and we cant really get married without her there lol
It just puts into perspective that weddings are a huge commercialised business in England and they charge extortionate amounts here! My wedding budget is coming at about £27k atm (thank god weve not got a mortgage (i own my apartment outright) or kids)
Ant just thinks that I think I'm Cheryl Cole sometimes saying "i want this, and this and this and that" without thinking they've got big price tags on them! lol
I just want my wedding to be the best it can be! xxx
Originally i was looking at Cyprus and Ant did like it, when we said to his mum, she got very upset! this is why we're staying over here! and having a bang tidy honeymoon lol

Hi Kisywisy I will put the link of our photographer on your wall. She is English and is £450 for all day, with unlimited photos on disc. It is a disc only package as we don't want to start carrying photo albums back with us when our Bristish Airways luggage allowance is only 23kg. She will do further copies for family if you ask and not the read only type discs, so you can print, reprint and resize edit till your hearts content. xxx

Forgot to mention she only requires a £50 deposit which secures her for your entire day. We were happy with the low deposit as some require half of the package price on booking.
Oh she is also happy to take photographs at any designated beauty spots you have in mind, like Aphrodite's rock etc. xx

I came across this amongst my various lists. I thought this may of use to anyone starting out on their planning of a Cyprus wedding. xxxx
WEDDING DAY PLANNING CHECK LIST Note: the list is not in any particular order 1. Set your Wedding Budget a) Determine how much you would have or would like to spend on your wedding. b) Decide what aspect is most important to you. i.e. Wedding Venue, Having Fun, Wedding Dress, Wedding Rings, Shoes, Photography, Flowers, Cake etc. 2. Select the month and possible Wedding Date (see website page on weather and sunset) 3 Research Do some initial research on the internet ie Google weddings in Paphos - wedding suppliers – wedding venues Paphos – wedding photographers Paphos - florists Paphos etc. and start obtaining a prices. 4. Contact Travel Agents, collect brochures Collect brochures from travel agents on weddings in Paphos. Look at brochures on the internet from the tour operators and request their weddings in Cyprus brochure. Also look at package holidays to Paphos to see the difference in cost if you want to organise the actual wedding day yourself. Check flight only deals too; you may find hiring a villa less expensive. 5. Transporting your Wedding Attire Ask your chosen airline/tour operator what their policy is regarding bringing your Wedding Dress on as hand luggage. Determine what your luggage limit is. 6. Who to invite to your wedding Speak to your family and friends that you would like to attend your wedding to estimate how many are keen to attend. This will give you a guide when obtaining quotations for wedding venues. 7. Budget If you have are on a tight budget think about having a small wedding in Paphos with close family and friends. Then have a reception back home for everyone else. 8. Wedding Venues Ceremony Venue – Indoors or Outdoors Town Hall Church/Chapel Hotel Terrace Amphitheatre Hotel on the beach/Gazebo Yacht Museum Reception Venue – Indoors or Outdoors □ Hotel Beach Taverna/Restaurant Village Taverna Yacht Villa (using caterers) Golf Clubhouse 9. Wedding Suppliers Hair & Beauty Flowers Wedding Cake Wedding Photographers & Videographers Private Villa/Reception Catering Transport - Wedding cars, Village Bus, Stretch limousine, Horse & Carriage, donkey.. Entertainment - DJ, Greek Dancers, Lucky Chimney Sweep, Piper etc. Accessories - Balloon, table decorations, favors, gifts Hair Decorations & Bespoke Jewellery including wedding rings Wedding & Bridesmaid Dresses and Wedding Suite hire Wedding Insurance Wedding Invitations 10. Select Wedding Attire Wedding Dress Take a look at the weather during the month you plan to marry to help with choosing the right dress, so that as well as looking stunning you will feel comfortable and not too hot to enjoy celebrating your day with your guests. Grooms Attire Again consider the weather i.e. a woollen long sleeved jacket in mid June, July or August will be very uncomfortable due to the heat and humidity, especially if you are planning to marry on the beach) Bridesmaid & Flowergirl Ushers & Pageboy Mother of the bride Bridal Shoes Bridal Jewellery 11. Wedding Invitations 12. Name Place Cards 13. Seating Plan 14. CD of Music for your ceremony 15. Flights and Accommodation for your guest’s Once you have decided on your date and wedding venue take a look at my mini map at the location of the various hotels in relation to where you are staying. You might want some guests to be closer to you to help on the day or perhaps take care of children. Investigate and select a range of suitable accommodation for your guests. If you are staying in a hotel ask if they will offer a special rate for your guests. Many airlines now fly to Paphos from the UK. There is also an airport in Larnaca which is only around 1.5 hours drive on the motorway (A6). The motorway is very quiet and there are rarely traffic jams. 16. Gifts for Parents, Bridesmaid/s, Flowergirl/s, Bestman, Ushers,
Don't forget to bring with you □ Passports □ All ORGINAL PLUS COPIES OF documentation required to obtain marriage license e.g. birth certificates, affidavits, deed poll if changed name □ Plane Tickets □ Wedding Attire for all □ Insurance □ Money □ Credit/debit Cards □ Wedding rings and jewellery □ Wedding extras, flowers, hair decorations, etc. □ Guest book □ Name cards □ CD of your chosen music for ceremony □ CD of favourite music for video editor if you are having your day filmed □ Other Wedding Extras

Honestly..... I think it is quite a good deal. I have been roughly jotting up all whats included against most of the things which are comparable to my diy package and I have to say yours works out pretty good value for money. We are doing all our own paperwork regarding the legal requirements of the ceremony as my uncle lives in Paphos so I will have soeone over there helping. However even without this part taken into account, it sounds like you are getting quite a bit for your money. My only advice would be even if its a package theres always room for negotiation. I would be cheeky and maybe ask if a welcome drink or some other small service could be available in with that price. I know some people feel its cheeky to ask but I am sure they are used to it and if you don't ask, you don't get. xx
