Hi there, I'm going to look at a dress 2nd hand in my size tomorrow.
It is actually my dream dress, but the lady who is selling is 3 inches taller than me and wore heels.
I'll put up a link to the dress in my profile in a couple of mins so people can see.
Any idea if I'd be able to get it taken up without ruining it? And how much would I be looking at for alterations?
    Thanks,
    Rosi

    Hi Possum!
Congrats on findin ur dream dress.
As for alterations, if you can find someone professional they can do it without you ever knowing there was alterations made. They normally cost anything upto £250.
    Hope this helps!

    Thanks!
Do you think it would be possible to bring it up like 5 inches without ruining the bottom?
I need to know if I'd be able to get the alterations done before i commit xx

I shouldnt see that bein a problem. I know one girl who bought her dress in size 18 or 20 from the bridal shop and got someone else to do the alterations. She was actually a size 10. It looked amazing! Provided u find someone capable, and someone u trust, u'll b fine hun!

More advice needed - the dress is £1100 new (with alterations), though £200 off right now.
    This one is £450 used.
If I try it on and its far too long, do I buy it? So stressed!

    Hi Possum,
Good seamstress can do everything, I had my dress for France altered on the top as I am only A cup, If you look at the pics in my profile you will not be able to see that she had to redo part of the sequin on the front to make it fit on me. She was really good. I paid £30.00 per hour of work if this can help.

Just had a look at the dress it may be difficult to take the dress up from the bottom without losing the detail. But a decent seamstress would be able to take it up around your waist, so you dont lose any detail. xx
