We are mostly paying for things ourselves, my mum and dad have bought 2 out of 4 bridesmaid dresses and my dress and they said they will offer some money later although we haven't expected anything I like the fact we are paying for most of it ourselves as it means I don't feel bad saying no and I'm quite happy to put my foot down as it's our money lol

All of the above for ours. We're outing as much as we can into it. My dad is paying the venue package £3100 and OHs parents are buying a few niggly things. So far they have got our save the dates and invites, paid half for suits and photographer deposit. They actually bought my dress too as I've didn't get it on that very day it would have been gone within the hour, and OHs mam cried when she saw me in it so she was happy to, but we're paying her back at some point. I also think they may be sorting flowers but we haven't started looking for any yet to find out. oHs brother is getting married in June and they have done the same for him so they are being fair by keeping its equal as they can. We're lucky really, we would have had to pick a later date or postpone without our parents x

Me and oh are mainly paying for it ourselves we paid 500 of our venue package and I am beyond greatful that my oh parents paid 2000 of it as it has made things so much easier we could have done it ourselves but that package has just made it so much more comfortable. Oh uncle so far doing photographer for free so I count that as him paying for that as without his amazing skills that would have been a good £1000!! Oh parents also paying for two bridesmaids dress and two little boy suits. My sister paid for her two little bridesmaids dresses. My mum and dad was going to give 700 but long story they booked a holiday couldn't go so gave it us so we had a pre moon in march! ! was so nice to escape for a bit. They said they will also treat us nearer time.
We didn't expect any help but can't deny I have been overwhelmed with the generosity because neither side are particularly wealthy so it's just been so lovely and can't deny it's made it all a little more easier.
Also we have his dad's amazing woodwork skills to make us a letter box and a few other bits which will save a few ££

Or wedding is costing just over £8000 , my mum is paying for my dress and also giving us £3000 towards everything, oh s parents are paying for the band just over £1000 and his sister has offered to pay for the kids entertainment £125 and her husband is going to make or favours for us. And my groom's men and bridesmaid are paying for their own outfits and fil2b is paying for ohs suit .
With out this help we would still be able to afford a basic wedding but this way we can have everything we want. And should be able to save around £1000 now towards our honeymoon now. Which with hopefuly money from gifts will see to a good one.

My parents and hubby's dad (his mum passed away before I even met hubby) gave us £10k each so we had £20k from parents and then we paid for the rest.

My parents said they'd give us £10000 and then OH's parents said they'll match it and then anything over that we'd have to pay for ourselves - original estimates/quotes for the day were around £26000 and so far, unless I've forgotten anything (fingers crossed), the day should actually cost about £14000. Unfortunately I told them I would give them change if there was any left over otherwise I would love to have pocketed the difference! The impact is that I've been a lot more keen to search out a bargain - I feel like its not my money so I need to justify every penny to myself and spend the extra time seeking out the best possible prices for everything. If we were having to pay for it ourselves I would have just bought whatever I liked and definitely would have ended up going over the £26000 estimate.

My H2B is paying for most of it as he has lots of savings, I will be saving up some of my wages each week until then to pay for some myself too, but my mum is always skint so not paying for anything, shes just making my bridesmaid dress for my neice. His mum and grandma are contributing quite a bit though! It's quite handy really.

We are paying for it all ourselves. I prefer it this way as there is no interference from others and I don't have to justify our choice to anyone else. Most people will give us cash gift though. But we can't afford a honeymoon just now so any cash we get will go towards that.
After 7 years and 11 months he proposed to me 18.10.13

We are all of that above us well. My H2bs parents have told us a figure they will put in which was nice and my parents have said they will put something towards but won't give a figure. We are planning to pay quite a bit toward things as well so should get what we want. His parents are very relaxed and are not putting any pressure on us, which is nice. We do have a figure in mind we don't want to exceed which helps as well.

We're paying around 30% (honeymoon; rings; cake; OH's outfit; bridesmaid and groomsmen's gifts; marriage notices; and a couple of other bits), and my parents are paying for the rest.

We were going to pay for our wedding, but my dad has given me some money to help out which has taken alot of stress off os us. But now fmil wants long lost family, ones that my h2b hasn't seen for over 10 years to attend the day and not just the evening as we budjected for, so have had to tell her if she wants them there she will have to pay for them

My parents are paying for the reception and my dress, his parents are paying for the photographer and magician and we are paying for things like car, decorations and cake etc. My parents wanted to be traditional and it has caused endless issues between me and h2b as they are treating it like their own wedding and there have been issues over them wanting the invites to come from them and RSVPS returned to them. At this point I just want to get to the day and skip all this bickering because I am stuck between them. We are paying for honeymoon but asking for money towards it instead of gifts.
