Hi all We're going to las Vegas for 5 nights then flying down to Mexico for 10 nights all inclusive. 2 months after the wedding. If my passport comes back in time then we're planning on France the day after the wedding for a mini moon ;-)

its still a sore point for me as well IDL... i know my hen is going to be fab, but i still resent the fact that he went to ibiza for almost a week, which took a massive chunk of the wedding budget too, so that was another reason i went for turkey. cheap and cheerful. the next time he complains, il point out the £1200 he spent in total (holiday, clothes, spends) on Ibiza could have gone toward a better honeymoon. its one or the other as far as im concerned, budget wise. so he can damn well lump it. and il MAKE him like it too! :D

I think H2B will be having a stag do away and I might as one of my hens but not sure yet :) Thing is H2B only ever went on school trips abroad where as I used to have 2-3 hols abroad a year so have travelled quite a bit since I was 18 months old so if it ends up just him having an abroad stag it won't bother me :)

aaaahh so i thought i had found the perfect place for our honeymoon infact we were going to book it for mexico cancun in the moon palace golf resort and spa but i went onto trip advisor and admittedly it has over 7,000 excellent reviews but when i clicked on the 'terrible reviews list' i read through 300 awful reviews and a lot of them were similar about how the hotel adds on random fees and you get hassled by timeshare people etc and 300+ reviews can't all be lying can they! and its just it would cost £3500 for the honeymoon at this resort and i want it to be perfect i don't want us to have anything to moan about plus we were told its an adult only resort but its quite clearly not from the reviews from other honeymooners!! the resort has 4 sister hotels and guests can move around and use the pools and facilities etc via a shuttle bus but people do bring there kids in and some of the reviews said it was swarming with kids. should i rethink my honeymoon destination or is it normal for places to always have bad reviews on trip advisor???? HELP! or even any advice on where to go thats honeymoon worthy-all inclusive and adults only??

I said to OH last night that I would love to go to Jamaica.. not necessarily on our honeymoon, but just in general (Maldives is the preferred honeymoon destination). He said he'd spoken to a few people in his barber shop who had been to Jamaica and they said it was lovely if you stayed in your resort, but not very nice if you ventured out of it? Apparently Jamaicans don't like the English? Has anyone else found this? xx

I am hopefully going on a mini moon the day after the wedding to spain/somewhere cheap. However we are saving up as much as possible after that as we both really want to go to NZ for 3 weeks so I cannot wait! He moans about going on a mini moon too, but I love holidays and he hates them (got our own farm and doesnt like to leave it) Which i fully understand. But i feel our NZ honeymoon will never happen, and if I dont book a mini moon for us straight after we will NEVER go on holiday, and he agrees with me on that! haha Joys of marrying a farmer aye!

We're going to Egypt for a week. We fly out the Friday after the wedding (gives us a few days to get hire suits back etc) and we're staying in a hotel that only opened in April this year. We're both really looking forward to it because we haven't had a proper holiday in the 7 years we've been together

We just got back from ours and it was amazing; 10 nights in a penthouse suite at the Gran Bahia Principe Sian Kaan in Akumal, Mexico, and then 7 nights in a swim out suite at the Excellence Playa Mujeres. We had a blast :-)

Looks like we will bodily be going to London for 3 days for a minimoon , go see led mis, as we both love it. See the sites. And catch a train and go to the harry potter studios. Then go somewhere nice and hot next summer.

We are stuck between Malta and Greece, been to Rhodes and loved it but would like to go somewhere that is less of a tourist place and more relaxing as it's our honeymoon and we don't want to go somewhere we have been before. Love the look of Mykonos and Santorini but can't get direct flights from anywhere near us so it would be either go to London to get the flight or do an overnight stay somewhere! Both of which aren't ideal! Might have to find somewhere else :P

because my daughter is still quite young , we weren't sure whether to go away without her or not but we have now decided to go away the year after for our proper honeymoon and week after the wedding we going for a mini moon for a few nights to see the Northern Lights !! its always something I have wanted to see, obviously not guaranteed to see them but would be amazing to see them and hang out with my new husband at volcanos sitting in natural hot spings under the stars drinking champers ! :)

I would love to go to NY, but I think for a honeymoon I would choose Greece! Have been there about 5 times now I think and I love it.. it has the perfect blend of everything and isn't too far away either which is a plus :)
We're still undecided about where we want to go. Maldives is the ideal location but it will be wet season when we go and OH isn't sure about risking it. Somewhere tropical :)

Both of us are no good at sitting on a beach/by a pool for very long and definitely aren't sun worshippers. Think we are leaning back towards NY again. Was having a panic we should go somewhere we haven't been before, but we loved NY and there is still so much we want to do :)

Id LOVE to go to NY but its too expensive and would rather go for another special occasion (like 30th birthdays, a LONG way off ha!)
We're total sun gods and just want to sit and do nothing for two weeks, but wanted to go somewhere we'd probably never be able to afford again. So standard European countries were ruled out for us as we can do family holidays with our so far non-existent kids there! Haha!

We're going to Cancun, Mexico staying at Dr3ams Rivi3ra. We went through a travel counsellor for ours who was so so helpful. If you want her info let me know. She also set up a bridal registry for guests to contribute for our gift for free x

To be honest I think we are going to have to book after the wedding and get some kind of last minute deal. We can't afford to pay for the whole honeymoon without monetary gifts from our family/guests so looking like the only option at the mo :/ which is not ideal but at least we will get a honeymoon I suppose, even if we have to wait a couple of months after the wedding x

We are hoping to go to Mexico too! but with the cost of the wedding I don't no if we will be able to afford it right after the wedding, we are going to put a polite poem in with invites regarding money towards our honeymoon so that will be a start! But we really want to get the luxury just us holiday before we have kids as we plan to get pregnant after the wedding! and my stepson is 7 and he's not permanently with us so we want that one blow out just ourselves.Xx

We have been looking at Thailand but to go in Nov/December time....
Hopefully its the more stable weather then and the children are at school (Cheaper and we are not taking them on our honeymoon, this is the only time we wouldnt take them. We have 4 children between us!!)
We are not too bothered that it isnt immediately after the wedding and maybe we will have money contributions too (Gifts)

Has anyone else heard of the tradition that the bride doesn't know where they are going on honeymoon. My OH has and my dad but I haven't heard it before. It's excoting though although my mom put the idea in his head that she can do the packing so that I don't know if it's going to be hot or cold even..
