Our total spend is £11,000. I thought it would have been around £15,000 but would have liked it to have been £10,000! We are somewhere in the middle so thats not too bad.
    How about you guys?

    whats your budget
    how did you decide
    have you stuck to it
is anyone heping or are you paying for it all

Thats funny - I was literally just thinking about posting something like this! Our budget is £16k - but that is really pushing it wsavign every penny we can and we'll have a total of 14 months to have saved for it. I think its too early to say how far adrift we'll be, but im generally pretty good at budgeting, so i'd hope it wouldn't go too far above this!

I feel a bit bad as looking at other peoples budgets ours seems totally over the top - and its not as if we are having a huge wedding either - around 50 people in the day.

Hails - thanks, I know its such an awful lot of money, but we fell in love with the venue as soon as we saw it on the internet, let alone when we went to view it. I just hope everything else comes out on budget so we don't have to take out a second mortgage!!!

kesha i believe most people like me on a low budget are making some things ourself like favours, invites and table decorations and getting family and friends to help with other stuff, ive been quite lucky as ive got a florist, photographer and hairdresser as friends who are willing to do things for me on the cheap or for free

Mine was originally £18,000, buts its drafted in at around £15,500. I've been saving hard and working over for years and now I just don't want to part with my money, lol. I always seem to try and take the cheaper option instead of just having what I want. I've also been making stuff my self. I look at stuff and think omg I can get this ir that for that! Fact is if I Can't have it on my wedding day when can i? That makes me feel better! :)

Nuttytart - I quite agree.....Im usually the kind of person who buys clothes on the cheap and always looking for a bargain...this is the one day im thinking "blow it" we've having what we want, within reason! It does mean that we're eating bread and water for the next year - but it will be worth it im sure!!!

I dont have a budget as such, trying to do it as cheaply as poss so that we have a deposit for a house saved sooner. The bigger the wedding, the longer we cant live together!

I originally thought about £4k, but I'm up to £5k without a lot of things included!

We were hoping for 6,000 as it was in the Caribbean but after pictures and little bits be bought while we were there it turned out to be just over £7,000.
Then our reception when we got back was around £1,000.

Pretty impressed with what we paid we got 10 nights all inclusive in St Lucia which was our honeymoon too! <3

Mums best mate works at the hotel we are having the wedding and she has told me where they hire all their decorations from so I can go straight to them too.

Yeah I know, thats true Jennie. We could have spent a fortune really, but by really, really researching for the cheapest suppliers and stuff we have got it down so, so much. We are having the wedding of our dreams and we have loads left over. I'm gonna put it toward the deposit of our first family home I think. I think I might even be able to cut it down even more!!! x

ours is £5000 and at £4600 exxcluding the honeymoon....... had to compromise on a few things, like getting married on Sunday (saved 50%) only having very close family and friends for day and max 80 at night! we wanted it to be intimate and about us, we could spend more, but h2b is very money conscious has paid off some of the mortgage instead of putting it to the wedding!

We booked the wedding & holiday without any money saved up & put things on my credit card which is virtually payed off..
we have concentrated on paying off one thing at a time, but luckily now we are borrowing some money off FIL2B all the struggling and money problems are paying off.. I wouldnt advise it to anyone though lol
