Hi everyone, I'm new to UK Bride. Just wanted to know if there were any second time round brides out there? I'm 41 and this is my second marriage, and wondering what kind of dress is appropriate. It will be a civil ceremony hopefully in a venue where we can have the reception in the same place. Could I go 'all out' or should I be more subtle? Any photos would be helpful Thanks

I think you can go all out if you want to. There are other second time around brides out there who go all out because either they want to or they didn't have the big wedding they wanted first time around.
It's entirely up to you what you want and feel is right for you and your OH.

Hi Maria, I agree with InDreamland, if you want to go all out then you should. I was a second time bride last year and our whole wedding was bigger (and better lol) than my first one.

My second wedding I went all out, we had a gorgeous venue, a big dress, tails, the lot. Go for it. I was 40 when I got married a second time as well.

When my mum got married for the second time she went all out as well, she decided to make her own dress so it was exactly what she wanted.
I agree with the ladies above its your big day have what you want :)
i would go all out too, just because its your second doesnt mean you have to do things less. this will hopefully be your last so make the most of it :D x

Thanks ladies for your replies. Not getting married for a little while yet, but I have been looking at dresses, cant resist really lol and although I have an idea for more subtle dress, I cant really find anything which is frustrating. I will have to broaden my horizons and not be scared to go for it again :-D Thank again x

Absolutely, go for it! Lol. When I was looking for mine I ended up with nearly the opposite of what I originally said I wanted, think there's a few ladies on here who ended with a different style dress than what they thought they'd get xx
It's my second time and I will be 45 by the time of the wedding. I will be having a proper dress etc as it's OH's first (and last) wedding and I want it to be perfect for him. But wear whatever you feel comfortable with.

I ended up with a dress which was totally different to what I first started looking at as well, started looking at fairly plain ones, ended up with a much bigger one,

Hello! We are renewing our vows next year after 20 years, I am 41 and I am going all out. I found a website online that said you should NOT make a renewal of vows like a second wedding, but pfft to that!!! We will do what we like, and so should you!

PinkPuff, first of all I love your username :-D And congratulations on 20 years xx I guess there are no rules about it all, as long as we all have a great day, it doesnt matter how, where, or what :-)
