We got everything from 10 (adult all day) to 200 (family all day). Some very close family didnt even get a card (I think thats a bit rude!) It just depends on their situation and what they can afford. The friend who gave us 10 is in a hard up way so we were really shocked and grateful to him x

Thats awful not to get a card! I couldn't imagine going anywhere without a card!

It might be interesting to put a poll about work colleagues too

I found this poll interesting as we are asking for money instead of presents what we get married. So good to see what people think.
However I do think it depends on the person. I personally can't really afford to give more then about £20 on a wedding gift (or any gift for that matter lol). So I would give £20 no matter if it was family or friend. Not sure about the evening though.
But I do know people that could afford a lot more on a wedding gift. So I suppose it depends on your personal circumstance, on how much you give people

^ i've always thought if you invite colleague's that you would also be friends, I would not invite someone just coz I worked with them.

If I was invited all day with oh depending on who it was we would put £100 for close friends and family.

His cousin got £100 and we had spent a lot out as we made a weekend trip off it as it was in Aberdeen. My sisters friend invited us to the evening and we gave them £30. I've never been to a wedding without oh but depending on who it was all day I would spend about £50 and £30 for evening.

Interesting topic! This has set my hopes up for our honeymoon fund now lol! I personally have never given money as a gift I've just bought a few token gifts, but I wouldn't give more than £20, but then again I'm only 21 and I haven't made my millions yet lol.

We would gift anything from £50-100 pp if we were invited to the whole day (how much would depend on how close we were to the couple and the type of wedding it was); evening only we'd gift anything from £15-30 pp again depending on those factors.

Personally I think it's not what part of the day you are invited to but how close to the couple you are ,and what your personal financial circumstances are.
I would hate to feel that anyone gave us what they couldn't afford because they thought had to.

To be honest I think anything from £0 to whatever you want to give is acceptable. I wouldn't want anyone to feel like they're only welcome if they bring a gift or money - we're asking them because we want them there - people are already forking out for outfits, travel, booze etc. If I went to a wedding and the happy couple weren't happy with the amount I gave them as a gift - well, I wouldn't be very happy and wouldn't really class them as good friends xx
