Some good ideas; I'm thinking of leaving favours to the oh as he's far more creative than me, unfortunately our venue doesn't allow food or drink so the candle idea seems nice; I like the lottery ticket idea but a friend recently used that

Some good ideas on here. Unfortunately our venue doesn't allow food and drink but I like the idea of the candles and the lottery tickets but a friend recently had lottery tickets..
An easier option may be to leave these to the oh as he's more creative!

Ages ago I saw personalised mms which I thought would be perfect for us as favours as that's what all our friends call us, however as our wedding is now potentially in Verona then I think they might melt. I am now thinking I may be brave and make biscotti as favours- I've made it before and it's yummy- GBBO each your heart out lo

I'm having individual favours as there's only 6 of us (including the bride and groom!) For my FIL, we're ordering apricot brandy from d3m1j0hn and handmade marshmallows for SIL. We haven't made our minds up about my nan or MIL yet but there's plenty of time for that! x

Our personalized m&m's were popular, loads of people commented on them. Once I get a professional pic of them on the tables I will post (there is a photo on our photographers blog post but I can't steal it from there)

Since were having afternoon tea were giving biscuits as wedding favours. I ordered some cookie cutters of eb@y although I never read the sizes and they turned up realy small haha so now everyone is getting 4 small biscuits rather than either a large bride or groom. Just need to practise my iceing skills now :) x

What are you all paying for your favours per person?
I did want lottery tickets but now they've gone up to £2 I thought that that plus the price of the card holder might be a bit to much so might go with scratch cards. Ive seen on the bay and other selling sites they do packs of 10 cards to put them in so I worked out for the ones we like it'd cost about £1.32 per person for it all, obviously for the kids we'd do chocs or sweets. Does that seem ok? Xx
CommentAuthorSam G 2b May 2016
Ours worked out at almost £3 per person but I love them, they were the first thing I bought after we secured the date! xx
CommentAuthorBaker2Be
Natalies200 that sounds like a good price to pay per person. :)
Anyone have any good long lasting biscuit/shortbread recipes haha x

We have gone bit overboard with our favours, women are getting candles with our names and dates on and on the back thank you for sharing our special day on the back, The men are getting either lottery tickets or scratch cards. We bought boxes to put candles in but were too small so filled them with chocolates and sweets and everyone will be getting a box, bought bridesmaid and flower girl and my mum a special present as well x
CommentAuthorDanielleS0709
We aren't doing favours. We are having a candy cart so we are putting little bags on the place settings saying fill me up at the candy cart.

I like your idea Danielle - it keeps costs down!! We've already put a vintage bus on from our home town - church - venue for our guests to save them on transport costs so I didn't want to spend much and we're having the candy Ferris wheel
CommentAuthorBecci93
I was also considering just getting a Chinese lantern for all my guests as the favours and on the evening do have a table with all glitter pens and things so that when the sun goes down we can go outside and have a mass lantern release and get a really pretty photo of that but not sure of guests will see this gesture as a favour!! x
CommentAuthorNatalieS200
Ok great thanks for letting me know costs, I thought it wasn't to badly priced. Aw Danielle, I love that idea

jam jar sweets
Just thinking about favours and stumbled across this - little jam jars filled with retro sweets. Just done the jar costings and shouldn't break the bank. Will try and find fabric that matches our colour scheme!

Favours end up getting left behind so not sure it's worth spending lots on- I like homemade things as seems really personal but then I love retro sweets and little jars too :-)
CommentAuthorMrs Jones
We're going to go with the jar idea as found some cheap ones on ebay and will do wholesale, so shouldn't be too expensive :-)

I want to go a little overboard and give our lady friends a fan and our gentlemen friends a 'lucky' sixpence.
With the good old bay tho should still come in less than £2 each.
CommentAuthorStephH96
If you can get them cheap then go for it - the guests don't have to know how much they cost.

We're thinking about giving mason jars as favours, can get them in 4-packs for a few quid in one of the pound shops. We might personalise them with glass paint. People can drink from them during the night and hopefully hold on to them!! I was thinking about a charity favour too but we'll see how much room we have in the budget for that closer to the time :)
CommentAuthorStephanieM158
We're having a characaturist so our favours will be those to take away with them.

We're having a falconer deliver the rings by owl in the ceremony and give a display at the reception, so my MiL has knitted little owls in different colours for everyone to take home. We might also make bird seed hearts to go around their necks or make a donation to rspb etc.

We have decided on charity pin badges for our local childrens hospital charity as my disabled son attends there on a regular basis. We might put them in an organza back with a chocolate heart x

We're having little jars filled with love heart mints, which have a vintage style fabric cover and a tag that says our names, Mint to be and the date of our wedding.
I've done little fabric bags for the children and have put in sticker books, crayons, sweeties, colour in and make your own pirate hat & princess crown and a soft toy. Hopefully that will keep them occupied during the wedding breakfast!!!

we are having very simple favours, all of our family are quite sweet toothes and we have a fair few children coming. so we are having red organza bags and inside each one will be a packet of personalized love hearts and 5 heart chocolate drages. I got the whole lot off of the bay for under £60 and thats for 150 guests. Any left overs my children wouldn't mind having haha. We are also having them displayed under a sign saying please take one and thank you for making our day sweeter!

For the adults im doing a diy sweet cart so for favours they will each have theor own bag with initials on and they can fi the bag up as much as they like. For children theyre having something similar to a party bag. Colourong books colours bouncy balls some sweets and a little map (im going to let them do a little treassure hunt where they can all win little prizes. They will all get a prize for each point on the map to make it fair)
CommentAuthorStaceyH989
I'm doing a goody bag for the Children with an activity book, some sweets, a small lego set and a hot chocolate cone. We haven't really decided for the adults yet. We like the idea of the personalised candles and may go for a miniature for the men if the venue allow it, if not we may do scratch cards. I will be putting some disposable cameras on the tables as well.
