Have you thought about getting them custom made? I have popped a link on your wall for a company who are able to make bespoke rings.. also fab prices. Was recommended to me by fellow user barbie on here :) x

I've also posted a link on your wall of the place we've gotten ours from. They come to your home and you get to try as many as you like on to find one you like as well as being able to customise it. I wasn't sure what I wanted before meeting with them but they were so helpful and had so much to chose from. I can't wait to get my ring, plus comes with lifetime guarantee, which is always a bonus

I would definitely get them to give you a quote. I'm not having mine bespoke made but the one I want from them is £450, compared to about £750 for pretty much the same ring in a high street store x

H2B's is £400 but he wanted platinum. Mine is £475 and has half matt finish with diamonds. The ones we looked at else where were more expensive and we weren't given the option to change anything like we were with this company. They're unique to us and they also offer deals with them usually, we have gotten gifts for all of our bridesmaids and flower girls......for FREE! We've been paying ours off every month for the past few months and our last payment is January.

Are you def getting your rings from them then Flossie? They're great, aren't they?

Kayleigh: we used the company that Flossie posted on your wall. We shopped around a lot, and found they were by far the cheapest. They do also offer interest free finance, but only if you spend over £500.

As far as custom/bespoke rings go, definitely ask them for a quote, as we again found their prices very reasonable. To give you an idea, we had my engagement ring 'upgrade' made by them; it's a pretty much exact replica of my original ring, but in plaitnum with high-quality diamonds. We paid £1770 for it; a popular high jeweller has a similar design in platinum, but with a lower total carat weight (0.49ct compared with 0.66ct) and lower quality diamonds (I SI2/I1 compared with D VVS1), and it retails at £2k. My wedding band was also made by them and cost us less than a ring with the same specs would have cost us on the high street. So, don't think that custom made = crazy expensive, as you will probably find that you will still save money even if you have one custom made.

Not 100% sure yet, but they have one in the style that I want and it looks lovely :) I'm going to order a sample of it in a couple of months so I can try it on with my engagement ring. If I like it I will definitely be purchasing it through them. Been really impressed with them :)

I might see what they can do for me bespoke :) the matching wedding band from the same place as my engagement ring is £380, considering it's just a 9ct white gold band that follows the line of my e-ring I was hoping to squeeze the price down a little!

Ours aren't customer made but we're getting them from an independent working jeweller. H2B's is about £200 and mine is £800 (he wanted a plain band). We've paid £850 for both so technically it's buy one get one free :o) We get my engagement ring cleaned up before the big day for free and three free silver necklaces for the bridesmaids. If H2B wants his engraved then that will be free too. We did have an appointment with an internet based company but decided against it. H2B wanted to be able to go to a shop if something goes wrong.

It's worth trying an independent jeweller rather than a high street store like F H1nd5 because you often get a better deal and some will be able to do something especially for you, if you have a design in mind.

Gorgeous rings by the way :o)

Commissioning bespoke rings is a great option. That's what hubby and I did. We went to a specialist jewellers in London who specialise in fairtrade gold and diamonds and platinum, if not fairtrade metal then it's recycled. Cost wise we got far more for our money than getting from a regular high street jewellers because they don't have the overheads. The best bit though is getting exactly what you want as all the rings I see in shops that I like always have something small I didn't like about them. This way I got my perfect e-ring and then a wedding band made to match it perfectly.

Earlier this year i commissioned cuff links for Mr lala's birthday ....I had amazing contact all the time with the jeweller ( father and son business) they gave me a quote but when they arrived they did more than I thought at no extra cost let me know if you would like the details ... I couldn't recommend them highly enough

Kayleigh: most people these days wear both, but it's entirely down to you. Some people might just wear a band if their engagement ring is very big/elaborate/impractical, other people need a custom made band to fit round their engagement ring but prefer the look of a plain, straight band so wear them on different hands; etc. I wear both, and my wedding band it shaped to go round my engagement ring so I never wear it on its own.

I planned to wear my engagement ring on my right hand, but my right hand is bigger so it didn't fit, plus my OH had bought me a beautiful ring as my something blue. In the end my OH had it in his pocket, and he put it on me after he out the wedding ring on. I didn't want to wear the wedding ring solo as it's shaped, so that worked really well :-)
