Have you thought of contacting some local seemstress or dress makers in your area. I found a seamstress who does a lot of wedding dress alterations who has happily agreed to make my dress at a good price, I found her last year and she has made 3 dresses for me so far. Love her and I always get a great deal.

I would have a good look around, I fell in love with several dresses that where well out of my budget, £2500 plus. I have since found very similar, beautiful dresses of the same high quality in the £400-800 price bracket it's just a case of trying all suppliers and maybe travelling a bit further x

go to lots if different places and try them on, i ended up buying the exact opposite of what i thought i wanted, so go with an open mind, i went to a shop tried on the style i deffo didn't want and wasn't sure, then went to another shop with an open mind and tried on a dress in the same stye and fell in love.

Like the others have said, shop around and keep an eye out for when local bridal shops have sales,

I'd have a look at local stores/stockists of designers you like and see if they have any up and coming trunk shows for new season ranges.....I got my dress with 10% off.....which was a fabulous saving considering it was over the £1000 mark all because I got it from a trunk show xxx
