I have noticed that there seems to me more and more people getting married in las vegas ....and thought it would be interesting to see what date your getting married on and where the wedding will be .
As a few peopl know i go out to vegas every year so if there is anything i can help with ...give me a shout , plus if im there wehn you get married i would love to meeet up with you
Mine's 15 Sept at the Shalimar Chapel. We'll be staying in the MGM Grand from the Monday night. Will definately keep you in mind. Actually, I could do with some suggestions about things to do the day before the wedding with my girlies. Age range late 20's to early 60's. I thought a show, dinner and drinks in the eve, so nothing that's going to tire me out too much! x

omg there some amazing shows .......
the tournament of kings is amazing and you get dinner with that (excalibur) Divas is a show of drag acts .....fantastic The peep show is great ( planet hollywood i think) Jubaliee ....at ballys is a proper old vegas show ...two shows a night ....late one is the topless show ( very tasteful) Bite ....at the stratasphere Elvis (show .....amazing ) at the Aria
A great bar to go to is the Nine fine irish men in New york New york ....they do fab food too
Ok, we've been having a bit of chat about the actual day itself today and as it stands this is the 'schedule': 9.30am limo pick up to chapel 11am - ceremony 1pm - reservation at Top of the World restaurant 2.30/3pm - head back to MGM Grand for free time/casino time 6.30pm - party limo pick up for sunset (stopping) tour of Vegas (with guests for photos) 9.30pm - back to hotel (MGM Grand) My question is, if we do the 'free time' thing then do we run the risk of our guests (approx 8) disapearing and being late for the limo tour? Do you have any other suggestions with what we could do with the spare time? We wondered about getting the limo earlier and heading out to Red Rock for some pics then heading back into town for the shots, but this could increase costs quite a bit as it would be a longer limo hire. What do you think? x
Well, I'm hoping to do that the eve before with the girls, plus would there be an expectation that we'd have to pay for that? It's all adding up a bit... Don't you think that we could hire a limo for, say 5 hours, go out to red rock and get some photos then head back into Vegas for the photo-stop tour?

Hi Lala, As the resident Las Vegas expert, have you ever been to the private balcony (Level 112, link on my wall) of the Stratosphere? Everyone's been so negative about Iceland (ohh it's too cold, there's no cities) we are seriously considering packing it in and going to Vegas in May 2013/14 instead.. It would be amazing to get married on top of the Stratosphere @ sunset but I'd really prefer to be outside and obviously the normal observation deck is open to the public - not sure how much I'd want tourists wandering around us.. The Chapel in the Clouds Stratosphere website says you can "upgrade" to the private balcony a few storeys up but I can't find any pictures of it, dunno how big it is or if it's right next to the rides?? Ta in advance for any tips :) Xx

I would have LOVED to get married in Las Vegas - in the brightest little chapel with Elvis and Marylin by my side. Wearing some fabulous ott leopard print outfit. But alas the h2b also always thought it's just tacky...
For a big anniversary I will DEMAND this as a blessing.
It’s so great to find that one special person
you want to annoy for the rest of your life....

Morning eco .... no sorry hun i haven't but when i am over there in April i`ll see if i can find any information for you as we are eating at the top of the world restaurant the night before the wedding
I've managed to befriend a lady on "the site that advises you on trips" who is trying to get married up there this May so I shall have to stalk her photos haha.
This could be a real possibility... Eeeek! :D Hen/Stag, Wedding and Honeymoon all in one place!
How is the Paris-Eiffel Tower restaurant? Would be gorgeous eating in their private bit after with the fountains... Xx

It's my honeymoon destination! (There, San Fran and San Diego) and I am so excited! Jealous of Vegas brides, would have loved to have done it but family not keen.
Most important question, is the CSI Experience at the MGM (where we're staying) any good?! H2b not interested at all but CSI is my fave tv show so I very much am! x
CommentAuthorEcoFreak
I love CSI! It's my second favourite behind NCIS lol Xx
CommentAuthorlala "mod" bunni
Hey smartie..... haven't done the CSI but if it is anyway near as good as the star trek was at the Hilton it will be fab .... be worth seeing if they do a "backstage " tour as well we did this and it was brill going down to the dressing rooms etc .
Woohoo! Just spoke to h2b and it's agreed - Vegas baby!! :) If we get any complaints about this plan whoever they are is getting a slap lol! There's no way I could turn down saying my vows with this view:

I have Lala - just waiting for a reply and I'm massively impatient haha Xx

Eco - I went to the stratposphere for our wedding breakfast, which according to our guests was delicious! Unfortunately, as the restaurant revolves, I got motion sickness and didn't really enjoy the food the 2nd time round
You're right though, getting married on the observation deck does mean having the public milling around, so if you could upgrade to the balcony (haven't seen it myself though) that would probably be better.
Smarties - hubby and I did the CSI experience whilst on honeymoon. It's ok and it's pretty cool getting to 'solve' the crime, but I would say that in my opinion, it's a bit over-priced. And we're still waiting for our 'graduation' certificates that they email to you (supposedly). You can get a triple ticket which reduces the price a bit. There are several things that you can choose from, but we did CSI, the Shark Reef Aquarium and Seigfried and Roy's Secret Garden (which has dolphins and a little zoo).

Actually NCIS is my joint favourite! Haha!
Hmm i'll look into it. Those choices sound good to me!
Other qu I have re Grand Canyon trips. Is it better to book before we get there, or arrange through hotel, or is there another option? x
CommentAuthorEcoFreak
Haha LK yeah I don't think we'll eat there after as my mum gets motion sickness easily - we're thinking the Eiffel Tower restaurant overlooking the Bellagio fountains? :)
I've found a couple of pictures of a couple up on the private balcony, no public walking around and no rides I could see.. shall have to see what the Strat people say when they email me back :) Xx

SWEEEEEEEET! We stayed in one of their Queen Bungalow Suites for 5 nights, Then it was 4 nights on the road then back to Vegas for 2 nights in the 4 Seasons (utter luxury and customer service was beyond belief)!

H2b and I have done many city breaks and always stayed in a hostel. In fact in 8 years the only hotel we've stayed in is a travelodge/premier inn! So we really wanted to go somewhere nice for a change! X
CommentAuthorEcoFreak
Haha wow thank you Lala & Mr Lala! :) Based on other pics I've seen I think the photo of the couple with the butler is taken from the private balcony :) Again, no rides in shot hooray!
Have either of you stayed in the Bellagio? Xx
CommentAuthorLittle Kettle
No, but my friend went there as part of her honeymoon - she said it was awesome x

eco freak...im so jealous you are getting married in vegas.
i am going to book mark this thread though to get ideas of things to do when i am there in march!! xx
CommentAuthorlala "mod" bunni
whata shame you will be gone before we get out there ....i seem to miss people each time we go , last time it was LK
We did our own photography with friends taking pictures as our budget just couldn't stretch to the $875-1000 that they wanted! But the limo co we used was ace, if you want their details. Driver was awesome and knew some sneaky quieter spots for great views e.g. at the Bellagio fountains and he even did an additional pick up at the Vdara for my Aunt and Uncle that wasn't scheduled. Needless to say, we tipped well. x

Ooh LK the limo company name would be great :) Xx

On your wall now babe. We paid $100 an hour and had a 3 hour tour, which, to be honest, really was the right amount of time. I thought they were trying to just get more money out of me initially, but they were spot on! x
