I am looking to get a valuation certificate for my engagement ring but have been quoted funny money too get one...has anyone any ideas?

i asked my jewellers when we picked up the ring after getting it resized and they said they could do it if i wanted but it would cost a lot and as we knew the ring cost 3k we could insure it for that for 3 years. I will probably get one after that for insurance purposes though

Yeah, they told me it would cost £100 too send it away and something like 50 for every thousand it was worth...was quite steep I thought x

Yeah our insurance company have told us we need the valuation certificate if anything happened too it...i kinda thought the jewellers would have supplied it x
