So, i'm starting looking for some weddings costs and ideas and I would love to hear your opinion. We are getting married on February 2017, so, winter... And I don't like the idea of balloons or biiiig things for the venue decoration. So, I've found these lovely ideas about using pine cones as the main piece of the decoration. I've put some images on my photo albums and made them public, so you all can take a look if you want. I thought about using brown(chocolate), white and green as the main decor colours.
I don't know if the pine cones look good for a winter wedding... don't know if it would only be 'acceptable' for fall weddings...
Any advice?

If you want them then have them. It's a winter wedding so pine cones are likely to fit with the time of year.

I immediately think of winter/Christmas when I think of pine cones so I think it would fit your theme perfectly! Xxx

I love the pine cones, definitely winter to me. You can even spray them gold or silver or with a fake snow spray. I say go for it xx

I do like the idea, but for me personally I think it would suit autumn more than late winter xx
See I think pine cones for winter and autumn russet coloured and yellow leaves! :-)

My friend got married in January a few years ago and used pinecones she had collected from the woods near her venue.
It was absolutely beautiful and obviously stuck in my mind!

You could either leave them natural depending on your colour scheme or you could spray them like others have said and meet your colours.

We used pine cones in ours for the names to go in on little chalk boards, we did have a very bringing the outdoors in type of rustic wedding though, lots of tree trunk slices etc..,there's lots you can definitely do with them x

I like the idea of incorporating them into a rustic styled wedding.. love the wood, tree trunk slices and stuff like that :) I think by adding autumn colours it wouldn't work though.. as to me that's not February, that's more October/November time.. but hey it's your personal choice, you go with whatever you love! :) xx

Thanks ladies for all the opinions. I know it's up to me and it's my personal choice, but I don't want it to look "non sense"... But if some of you tell me that it can be used for winter... YAY! :D

pinecones are a great idea, my friend is getting married next year in december and she's having them on the tables with white sprinkles on top so it looks like its been snowing on them xx

I personally think they would look lovely for either an autumn or winter wedding. What you could do is go out for a couple of walks with your h2b and pick up some pine cones and then spray them white and maybe put a little bit of glitter around the edges? You can then use them as place card holders etc. :) x

As our seasons are changing so much now, I would expect to see pinecones and chestnuts etc past autumn, and into winter. This pics of the frosted/snow tipped pincecones look really effective

I agree with Jessica about spraying them white, I was gonna suggest that..it will make them look more wintry x

Hiya, I am a visual stylist for weddings. Yes, I would go for pine cones sprayed white with glitter edges. Something that I might do for my clients is make prints of pine cones onto napkins/place-cards, and make a giant pine cone from pieces of wood slot together then have food canopies served on it. Use wood tree trunks slices, and bring the winter theme in with white, silver, and maybe an accent colour like red or mustard shade. Visual Box

Thanks, girls. I'm not spending tons of money on the decor. Not really willing to spray the pine cones with anything because I live they naturally. Have decided for chocolate, golden and silver for the wedding colours. Gonna use the wood tree slices :D Thanks for all the advice btw :D
