What kind of underwear did you wear to try on dresses? Not sure if I should buy some good, 'control' underwear before I go shopping!

Where what ever underwear is closest to what u would where on your wedding day. That way you can see what your dress will look like with similar underwear. Different underwear will look different under your dress. Xx

The first time I went dress shopping I wore white knickers and a white strapless bra, the second time I completely forgot and wore a red bra and bright knickers.... whoops.... it didn't actually make a difference on the day though.

Thanks ladies. I haven't been shopping yet and am a bit nervous about shopping in bridal shops and what is expected of me!

Thanks MrsKirby2b. I'm pretty self conscious and worry about snobby sales assistants!

Also some good fitting underwear will maybe give me a better impression of the dresses I try on

I would definitely wear a strapless bra, esp if you plan to try on strapless dresses, and knickers-wise I'd just wear something neutral and comfy that you don't mind being seen in (eg a tiny see-through thong might not be the best choice lol). I don't think control pants are really necessary as most dresses have a lot of support; mine has a built-in steel-boned corset so I don't need either a bra, or control pants.

I also think that for trying on it isn't such a big deal, as typically the ones you try won't be in your size so it's difficult to get a very accurate idea. Just make sure that when you do get a dress, you get your underwear before you attend your first fitting :-)

I wore a strapless bra, but whatever nice panties i had. I did however wear N3xt or R3publ1c ones with D3benh4ms bra as i heard somewhere that they judge what you can afford dress wise on what underwear you wear? Im probably wrong as they just ask you what your budget is. But i wasnt going to give them satisfaction as some people are snotty, but mine were all lovely luckily :)

Re the budget thing: I'd say that if that does apply, it'd be more in terms of them trying to sell you something more expensive. When I went shopping for my ring remake I was careful about what I wore; I didn't wear much other jewellery and dressed in jeans. I didn't want people to up the price based on how much they thought I could afford (and one guy was actually honest and said that a lot of jewellers do do this). So I guess if you went to a dress appointment dressed in designer clothes with L@ Perl@ undies they might be tempted to up the price slightly/less likely to negotiate a discount.

I've never though of it like that barbie! Good point. Luckily I already got a good price on my dress and I don't think my pants made a difference haha.

I wore a white strapless bra and some nice pants, I wouldn't feel very comfortable in a little thong around anyone, let alone a strange woman ha x

I've got appointment to try some dresses in a couple of weeks, they sent a confirmation email to me which had some FAQs in it. They recommended to wear a strapless bra and knicks that made you feel good and give you a good shape, maybe control pants if you're planning to lose weight so you get better idea of how dress might fit. Think a lot depends on the style of dress you go for to be honest as some have more structure than others lol xx

On my wedding day I only wore knickers as my dres
Was a corset. Corset does the same job as a bra If not better, you don't need both x

Missweedles: yeah I'm not wearing a bra either, I'd planned to but it just isn't necessary (and I'm not exactly tiny up top either!)
