    hiya

so im so undecided wether to have a hen do or not! my MOH is my 23 year old sister so she is totally hyped up about arranging me something but over the years of moving schools/jobs/cities i just don't have enough people to go infact i think i will be laughed at! atm i would only have like maybe 4 people i could invite!
anybody have the same problem? or if not any suggestions on what i could do? or shall i just go with not having one??

    thank you! xx

You don't have to have a massive do, just do something with the 4 of you. Spoil yourselves and have a lovely time. Its much better to have a nice hen with the 4 of you then have a massive one with people who don't matter that much to you

My sisters hen do was me, her friend, her friends mum and our two aunts (who left early in the evening) and my sister didn't seem phased by it :) I know mine will likely be bigger as my circle of female friends is quite bigger but to be honest part of me wishes that I could just have a nice quiet night in with them with a chocolate fountain. Simple pleasures.

Something that would work well for a small hen do might be a spa day or something ultra luxurious that you wouldn't normally do. Maybe a day trip doing something fun.
I would look at in the way of a select few sharing an unforgettable experience.

I didn't have many for a hen as most of my family live up north and I now live on the other side of the Tamar to you. My husband and I chose to have a joint hen/stag and we did a ghost night. Not everyone's cup of tea I know, but it was a huge laugh. We still had a separate night each where we went for drinks with friends but there wasn't so much pressure to have an all out hen/stag as we'd already had a really good night.

I agree about maybe doing a spa day/weekend. I think that kind of thing works better with a small group and you could just relax and be pampered!! Xxx

I don't have many people for my hen if I have one, being an only child from a small family! So there will prob just be a few of us going to Alton towers for the day or something! And then out in the eve!

I won't have a huge list of people for hen do either but I've been thinking that's a good thing as I really want to to a spa and have a ladies day :) I'm not much of a clubber or drinker so this idea suits me :D

Me too, mine will more than likely only be a few so think it'll just be a meal.
Two of you could go out and have fun, you'll have more fun with the few close to you than inviting people just for the sake of it.

yes thats true kjl87- i just think before i was even engaged or even with my fiancé you always imagine your hen do to be this really fun weekend away wearing the L and a veil etc and I'm just disappointed that i won't get that hence why i would rather just not have one because then i can't be disappointed with it :-/

just get a few girls round to your place for a few drinks. Low key quality night in with your friends. Maybe splash out on a Butler in the Buff but otherwise, keep it simple.

I moved a few times so have only a handful of people i could call good friends but we still went away, i think there were maybe 10 of us in total, one being my mum and the other 3 being the witches of eastwick (his mum sister, sil) who really shouldn't have come but unfortunately it was all booked and paid for at the point, though if it was me and i had had a go at the bride the day before the hen do i wouldnt have gone out of respect!

anyway, i digress... it is a touchy subject for me lol

Even if it was me and my 4 bestest mates we would still have had a ball, so just do what you want and enjoy yourself as i am sure you will do whatever you end up doing

My bestie and I had my hen do planned for years and now she won't be here! Unless I my hen do RIGHT before my wedding, but I've always hated that idea for me.... i get zoo puffy when i drink lol

I only have 5 of us including me for my hen party as because they are the only people my moh would like there to celebrate my hen do. I don't think it should matter on the numbers, just that you have a great time with the people that you know.

If you would like to spend some special time with those who are closest to you even if an intimate group then do it. A spa day, a meal out, a girls night in doing your nails and getting in a takeaway. Enjoy yourself xx

    Id go for it!

I was the same for my main hen party I had to have a large group and ended up with about 20 of us and to be honest it was a bloomin nightmare! People dropping out, messing me about then trying to organise everything on the night I was so stressed out I didn't really relax or enjoy the night.

I had a smaller last min hen where myself, my sister and 2 mates went for dinner, drinks then to see the dreamboys I had the best time ever!!!!

Just remember its quality not quantity. Im sure you will all have a wonderful time x x x

I prefer smaller hen do's, less people to worry about and so much easier to spend time with everyone. I wanted a spa day for mine and there are 9 of us booked for the weekend with meals and rooms for a decent price. I only want people around me I am close to, I've moved away from my old friends and don't see then often so didn't invite them. I don't feel you should invite people to make up numbers just do what you want and have fun!

I don't think it matters how many people you have on your general do.
I don't have many female friends, and my mum, sister and a few other female friends will be travelling from New Zealand and may not be here for my hen do.
I am not fussed, we will just have a smaller hen do. Maybe a spa day, or afternoon tea and night at the theatre. Something like that. Not a huge fan of going out a getting trashed so that definitely won't be for me. Maybe a few cocktails though?

Maybe just go out for a nice dinner or afternoon tea with a small group. It's not the numbers that matter but what you make of it with the people that are close to you.

I've got about 10 coming to my hen night, mostly taken up by my 3 sisters and my Mum. H2B doesn't have many friends and I think he's only got about 6 or 7 people going to his stag do. His bro is best man and is organising it all, but hasn't told him anything so he doesn't even know who on his guest list is going!

You can still have fun with a small number of people :o)

The OH's mum was saying how she's seen loads of stuff in a card shop (feather boa's L area inflatables kind of thing) and I have asked her not to - it's really not my thing! I would much rather do something hands on like a baking class then a spa evening or something! I really only think maybe 2 or 3 will be with me for that! It doesn't bother me so much - the people who matter to me will support me. And if they don't they can lump it lol
