Hi our venue is about a 15-20mins drive from the church we are getting married in. Would you provide transport for the guests or would you let them make their own way there? Thanks x

I would probably let them make their own way there. The majority of them would probably be driving to the church anyway wouldn't they? So it shouldn't be a problem for them to drive on to the venue xx

That's what I thought Flossie. The venue has a secure car park too so if anyone wanted to leave their cars then they could :-) x

I'd let them make their own way there. My guests did, some left their cars overnight, some never drank, and most ordered a taxi home.

I think 15-20 mins is fine for people to make their own way. The last wedding I went to we didn't know the area at all and it was 50 mins from church to reception so they put on coaches which worked really well.
Thanks ladies. Just spoken to h2b and we've decided that we are going to let guests make they're own way there x

most weddings iv been to we've made our own way- the 1 time we didn't and they set up a coach (we still had to contribute £10 towards the coach each) but that was an hour drive away! xx

We were 40 mins away and guests made their own way, yours is nothing in comparison...even a taxi wouldn't cost much... Let them sort themselves out x

I would let them sort themselves out. As a guest I would expect to need to make my own way, unless I was told otherwise.

Let them make their own way there. I've never been to a wedding and had transport for guests. We won't for our wedding either. X

Ok, I'm planning to get married (ceremony and reception) about 35 min away from where his family lives. and I'm wondering if I should offer some transports, but I don't want to spend money if I don't really have to :(
CommentAuthorKatrina*
I would probably let them take themselves, it could end up bumping your budget up and as others have said probably drove to the church anyway
CommentAuthorFlossie
35 mins isn't too far away, I think it would be fine to let everyone make their own way there Camila. There's no need to put extra stress on yourselves and strain on your budget x

I've just had one car company email back to say someone already has the car we wanted on our date :( I thought I was organised and thought we had plenty of time to book our transport x

I would let them make their own way there. At our wedding some family members agreed between themselves who was driving/providing lifts

We're letting guests make their own way.
Providing transport is a lovely idea but like others have said, they have to get to the Church and it also takes away their freedom of when they can leave as well... or they end up having to book taxi's to get home.
