Not wedding related so sorry but I am mega upset about the state of my doctors surgery.
I have a cancerous birthmark removed from my arm 3 years ago and even that was a bloody joke of a proceedure. He put 8 stiches in a wound 4inch long and ridiculously deep! As you can imagine the stitches didnt hold as tightly as they should have done so I am left with a right mess.
Now I have another little friend appear on the right arm. Its getting bigger, itches, burns changes shape. I know exactly what it is but every time I try and make an appointment to see my doctor they are fully booked.
Does this potential cancer have to riddle my body before he gets off his fat arse and does his job?! I am so fucking mad!!! As if I needed this again. Especially when I am getting married. I wouldn't mind but I don't smoke and I don't get on any sunbeds so why am I 22 with this horrible thing when there is women walking around looking like they have been painted with fucking bisto with puffing on deathsticks perfectly healthy. Makes me fucking laugh!! Thanks God!!! Your a fucking legend!

I would just bypass the doctors surgery and go straight to A & E in the hospital!!!xx

docotrs are rubbish. i have rung up many times and been told that thers no appointments. then as soon as i make a fuss an appointment just happens to pop up! give them a piece of your mind, i would! x
CommentAuthorPuddleduck87
You can't do that. they will send me home. Its not classed as an emergency. x

Thats disgusting how can they always be fully booked? I'm not surprised your upset - hope you manage to get something sorted xx
I sat there with my finger on redial from 8.30 this morning. By 9.00 I managed to beat the other callers to the ring to be told they are out of appointments. 30 mins and they were all gone!

I would call them again, and when they say they have no appts, say "fine I shall go to A&E and when they ask why i didnt go to my Dr about it, I will gladly tell them, because you were far 2 busy to see a me!" My surgery soon back down and "find" an appt!!! good luck =)

kicking up a bit of a fuss has worked for me as well x
CommentAuthorDaffy
Oh god hun, have you contacted them and told them what the problem is? If not like MrsM2b says go to A&E.

They should realise, especially with your history, that it is an urgent matter. Will they not allow you to make an appointment for a couple of days? I know that every day can matter. Alternatively can you ask to speak with the practice manager? I would definitely kick up a fuss with them as it is out of order that they can't help you. What about if you go down to the surgery the minute it opens? Alternatively do you have a local walk-in centre who might be able to help in any way?
I hope that you get seen urgently xxx

I'd demand to speak to the Practice Manager..usually the receptionists talk out of their ar ses.
All surgeries should be able to book you at least 2 weeks in advance & have available emergency appointments available each day between 9am til 10.30am.
If they are not providing this service then it must be brought to the Practice Manager's attention.
You need to see someone & quickly to get this sorted..I hope they remove their fingers that are so far up their ar ses & help you out & get you one ASAP.

I think dr's receptionists think they are the doctor! They all seem to be the same. I too would ask to speak to the practice manager and make sure you make a note of the receptionists name xxx

Duckie - go to ANOTHER doctor TODAY or TOMORROW am.
You have every right to see another Doc.
As for appointments, ring and ask to speak to the practice manager and explain that you have had cancer and have it again (potentially) you need an appointment ASAP. Do not take no for an answer.
STOP typing..get ringing.

do you have a walk in centre ? if so call NHS direct first as you will then get to see a doc before people who havent called
i know it's expensive but you can get moles screened for cancer at a well know high street chemist who's name is a type of shoes (not sure if you can name suppliers anymore). totally understand where your comming from though, suggest you write to complain to the practise manager and local nhs trust. loads of people did this at my surgery and they radically changed their hours and booking system and now you can book non-emergency appts up to 2 weeks in advance and also on saturday mornings. emergency appts is still 1st come first served. if its not too much of a pain you could go to your surgery when the open tomorrow am and demand an appointment. i would suggest you state that the stress of not knowing whether this mole is cancerous or not is causing you undue stress, resulting in diahorrea and vomitting (let them prove that) and you'll get seen! x x

I shouldn't have to go and pay to get it checked out, I pay my taxes.
I went in, told the receptionist to get my doctor and I sat down. She kept saying "Excuse me, excuse me" In the end she came over to me and asked me why I needed to speek to him. I told her it was private. She then told me she needed to know what was wrong in order to fit me in.
So I stood in the middle of the doctors and said GET A DOCTOR TO SEE ME BEFORE I REPORT YOUR SURGERY AND TELL ALL YOUR PATIENTS WHY I AM SO MAD.
The doctor saw me.
I'm being refered to the hospital for a biopsy. Looks like bad news........

glad you had the balls to do what you did but it certainly should not have taken this for you to get the treatment you deserve. Fingers crossed that they are just being overcautious due to your history x

My doctors was rubbish too so I sacked them and moved to a new one. DO IT!!! It's so important, some are just rubbish but they're not all like that.

Puddleduck ...... my goodness I was angry for you reading that!! :0 I really can't understand the mentality of the GP's receptionist, they are breed on their own, they really are! You did the right thing just going down there and kicking up a fuss, thats just what I'd have done. They are always going on about getting to the docs if you see a mole that doesn't look right, Yeah we would if the bloody receptionists would give us an appointment!! I hope you get it sorted swiftly and have a better job done on the surgery this time if it's required, I would make a point of showing them your last scar and saying you would like a neater job this time pleeeeeze! in a sarcastic voice. All the best hun ... ;) (( hugs )))

we have had the same with als shoulder, he used to play professional rugby but his was shoulder was badly injured so now he has a pin in it, 2 years ago his shoulder popped out i put it back in for him but it comes out alot, we had a feel of it and we can feel what seems like part of the pin poking at a funny angle, so he went docs they said they would refer him still nothing after over a year so next week we are going up to a and e al is even considering popping his shoulder out before we walk in, its seems the only way he will get it seen to, we even spoke to a close friend of ours who is a doc and that was her suggestion to go to a and e not the popping out bit i may add plus he has (oh whats the name??) when your finger starts bending down to yout palm Carpul tunnel is it? they won't do anything to it until its almost touching his palm which is ridiculous!! he is a lanscape gargener how the hell is he meant to work like that??
he did ask if and when he gets his shoulder done could they do it at the same time they said probably not! what!! its on the same arm so logically and financially its better for everyone no?? otherwisw he will have to be off work twice! he's self employed so not good!
hope all is fine for you puddle xxx
