I am a natural red head (albeit dark red hair not obviously ginger) Im very freckly and very rarely tan. I dont wear fake tan as I hate the smell but for the wedding day I wouldnt mind like a sunkissed glow, When the kdis have gone back to school I will have two weeks before the big day- so realistically I can only use the sunbeds when theyre back. How many sessions do you think I will need and how long for per session just o get a nice kissed look? Or should I just go down the route of fake tan? It makes me nervous to attempt it incase it goes dreadfully wrong and I cant wash it off. lol

I don't tan and I've never been on a sunbed so I'm not much help, however have you tried something like D0v3 holiday glow? My mum uses it and used it for a couple of weeks in the run up to the wedding. It builds a nice gradual tan and like it says on the tin, gives you a nice "glow".

I used I think it was Johnsons moisturising glow- i wound up so streaky it was awful. Seriously I am terrible at all these beauty treatments.

Hi Stephanie, I agree with Flossie, I used the d0v3 glow gradual before my graduation and it worked brilliantly. Any moisturiser based self tanner will reduce streaks.
I'm using sunbeds for my wedding and was advised that If you use a tan accelerator cream and start with 3 mins every 48hr for a week and then 6 mins every 48 hrs for the following week I should have a nice tan by the time of the wedding. I'm blonde but very very fair, I dont normaly tan, I burn! But so far it seems to be working!
I wouldnt risk a self tan or fake tan anywhere near a white dress!

Thank you Stacey, im going to buy a bottle now and see how it develops. I dont want to look streaky/orange on the day. :-)

I didn't bother with fake tan or the sunbed. I also avoided the self ones as well as didn't want to run the risk of looking streaky. In all honesty I think it's much more natural just being you on the day rather. Also some of the tan lotions can rub off onto your dress so for me it was a big no no.

i would definitely use sunbeds just for a couple of weeks. youll probably only need 3 sessions, got for 6 minutes first, then 7, then 8 and you will definitely have a nice noticeable tan. I cant deal with spray tans incase they go streaky or my pits go white if i sweat so a sunbed is a much easier option lol xx

My thoughts were the same as Lindsey's... I didn't want to change myself too much for the wedding day, I wanted to still be "me" and wanted my OH to recognise who was walking down the aisle towards him!!! Also wanted to be able to look at wedding pics knowing I was "me" :-)

Oh definitely Flossie I agree- I dont want to be an oompa loompa just like ive had a couple of days in the English sun. :-) Its kind of slimming as well having a bit of colour so thats a winner fr me.
