Emsy I disagree, BNP support comes from an entirely different base than does UKIP’s. BNP are socialist, authoritarian, protectionist, anti-foreigner. UKIP is libertarian, free market, and pro-global trade and cooperation but against the EU political structure. As far as immigration goes, the BNP want to kick out foreigners. UKIP believe immigration can help the economy but want it under the control of a demcoratically elected British government, with a work permit system as many countries around the world also have. Go look at both their manifesto's and tell me where the similarities lie? The only one is that both parties want us out of the EU, we give the EU £45 MILLION A DAY, both parties want that money left here in the UK to help UK business's. We need to stamp out immigrants who are just here to feed off our benefit system and who give nothing in return. As far as im concerned we should be just like Australia, and why not they are part of the commonwealth after all, prove you can work, prove you have money behind you and prove you can give something in return and if you can then we should open the door if not then back up to where the hell you came from. We have enough BRITISH people out of work which take up a huge amount of tax payers money, so firstly we need to concentrate on getting them back to work rather than paying out to unskilled immigrants who just wanna bleed this country dry!!!

    Sorry to intrude Ladies,

My full name is Scott David Cameron.......so guess who i'm voting for? lol!

That's not my only reason though:

Lib Dem - I don't think Nick Clegg is competent enough and last week we had a live debate in Tamworth and our local Lib Dem candidate was asked a question, to which she went completely off-topic with her answer and was asked what the hell her answer had to do with the question she was asked haha.

Labour - Gordon Brown insulted a woman who had voted Labour all her life and IMO he is incompetent and has shown what an a*se he can really be. However our local labour candidate is very good and has helped my father out with some problems he's had in the past.

Conservatives - Well, David Cameron is 2/3 of my name haha. Also, our local candidate seems like he will actually get things done and seems like a decent bloke. Also, I agree with more of the Conservatives policies than any other party.

Which ever way it goes, tomorrow morning is going to be interesting!

Suzi okay i see where your coming from with the different funding and basic ethos (socialist/libertarian) but as far as I can tell they are both fairy raciest or at least they are in my area. the idea that all immigrants are here live of our benefits is just not true most people who come here from overseas actually do contribute quite a great deal to our economy actually more than some of our third generation unemployed young people.
Remember that Britten has always been a place where immigration has been a basis of a strong economy and with an aging population who do you think in the future is going to be doing the work where are the young people going to come from?

I agree Emsy that a minority of immigrants contribute towards our economy and UKIP also agree, going back to what I said about UKIP

"UKIP believe immigration can help the economy but want it under the control of a demcoratically elected British government, with a work permit system as many countries around the world also have"

That is not the same policy that BNP have!!!

Our younger generation are being done out of jobs because the Europeans are coming here and doing the job for half the price, how many illegal immigrants are working here (illegally) those jobs should be with British people paying British taxes thus contributing towards our economy!

I voted on Tuesday for the party who I think will make the least mess. I may not agree with all their policies, but I think they have the best chance of sorting out the country. I don't think the party I actually support is strong enough to lead the country yet. They are getting there though. And Labour is lacking in any real direction and drive after being in power for so long.

but.... Isn't it the local candidate your ultimatley voting for, your not actually voting for a prime minister or leading party.

I voted Lib Dem, simply because the constituancy i'm living in has had the same MP for the last few years and he is brillient, there is nothing really wrong with where i live politically, he cares what people say and tries to act on it.

If i was voting for the party which would be running the country i would have been voting conservative, not because i like David Cameron i just think they would make the least mess. BUT our local conservitive candidate is a complete and utter b**ch, she's so stuck up and i hate her attitude. One example would be rememberance sunday a few years ago, she turned up because she was told she should. I was standing near her with my Dad (who is ex-army and had been marching in the parade) i actually heard her say to the bloke she was with 'How much longer do we have to stay with THESE people?' these people being mostly ex service people, people who had lost there husbands, fathers, brothers, wives, sisters etc in conflicts. I was shocked and since them i made a vow NEVER to vote for that woman, she's so up her own a**e she could be coming out the other end.

    Anyway, rant over!

I am voting because it is my civic duty to. If I don't vote I have no right to complain about things if they go wrong, I have no right to the power over the government of us if I do not vote. I am voting because MY vote counts and so does everybody elses.

Yes the way we vote is rubbish because it gives us a much bigger dilemma than who gets into number 10 but who we are stuck with as our PM. It's sad that it is that way. But without votes, without taking a chance and without any hope none of that can change. I hate it when people don't vote because they can't be bothered or couldn't care less because usually somewhere down the line they find something to complain about and I really don't feel they have the right if they have no interest in the country's wellbeing and growth for others, why should we listen to their own selfish complaints?

That and as women, we OWE it to the Suffragettes, the women who died, where treated awfully and I mean really awfully, to get up and make our voices heard. It was a hard enough fight to gain the right to vote. Ignoring it and acting like it doesn't matter really really sucks as far as I'm concerned.

It's everyones choice. I just think that as long as you vote today, with the belief you have voted for the right person and party, then no vote is wasted. It is only wasted when left uncast!

Sorry for the rant. I get reallllly into this stuff hahaha

Nicola I had never voted in a general election and it was a bit of a learning curve, figuring out that you vote for your local candidate and not the actual prime minister is a bit of a silly way to go about it... but you have to vote for who you think is best. And think about your area and other areas and trying to figure out who would do the best all round job. Not easy, but worth it I think...

I have just voted and very happy especially with my local council decision.
We had the normal knocking on doors and stuff from labour and conservative cndidates..lib dem nowhere to be seen...
The conservative candidate stayed at my doorstep for 1 HOUR, whatever question i had he would listen and answer.. really liked him... Labour candidate as soon as i started asking questions he changed the subject and left..less than 5 minutes later... Also he's locally known as a thug that needs to go out...

I personally think that the borders should be closed for anyone outside the EU.
Even people coming from the EU should have a background check done (we don't want anymore criminals coming in).

Suzi you said that Europeans are coming here illegally... sorry hun but EU citizens can come and live/work here without a problem, the problem is people from outside the EU. Also to be perfectly fair we can't say jobs just for the British otherwise every single British person living and working abroad should come back to the UK and leave those jobs for the locals. Don't you think?
