lottie - how many guests are you having? My mum is stressing out that our 50 cupcakes won't be enough as everyone will want one (we have 130 in the evening) I'm really not bothered and have the thought "when they're gone, they're gone - you snooze, you lose!" I don't want to be left with loads of cakes so would rather people lost out getting one than loads being left over. My friend had a cupcake wedding tower and only half of them went, she was throwing them at people on the way out lol,

This is the inspiration behind our cake - we will be having it traditional white icing, but with the caged piping a light sage (to match our colour theme) then with light pink roses and doves on it too :) i cant wait to see the finished cake ...:)

OMG why did i come and look at a cake thread when I am ill! (noro virus)

we are deffo having one made by my mil2b that will look the the m and s one with butterlies, and spots, but instead of ebing plain white we are having baby pink ribbon, spots and butterflies, and some pink dolly mixtures round the bottom (mil gets the job of pikcing out the pink ones lol)

kevs angel i love that cake its in my wedding file I'm having a birdcage cake to though mine is going o be the top tier only my cake maker is a master in royal icing and her piping work is amazing she piping the detail from the birdcage as a lace design on each tier with roses its going to look stunning and i know i wont want to cut it lol

i think we do have similar taste kevs angel as thats not the only thing we like the same lol and don't worry about the picture they will be plenty the cake maker even told me one of her customers refused to cut her cake in the end as it looked that good she had a case made to display it in her living room. i told her not to give me any ideas lol

We're having 5 different flavours, all of which have some sort of alcohol in them! Can't wait to see it in all it's glory but first I have to meet with our amazing cake lady and design it!

birdcages seem to be very popular this year and i didnt really seem much about them till i choice them its always the way with me i picked my daughters name because i liked it obviously but it wasnt very popular at the time wasnt even in the top 100 but now its everywhere lol

Ideas for my last cake have changed and so now I am hoping its going to be this cake, but 2 tiers. I have 4 choices for a cake topper and I love them all so much I cant choose which one! I chose the cake because the flower design matches the appliques on my dress.

I have a rose and Ivy vine, a willow tree figurine, a miniature birdcage, and a sparkley heart.......I cant choose between them, they would ALL suit my theme, I suppose I just need to make the cake and see what looks best. Grrrr

Some lovely cakes here, I love yours RaggedyAnne and Iluvcakes. We are buying our cakes from m&s, my mum is going to decorate them, I think I like the idea of having leom ribbon round each tier with a brooch in the middle of each ribbon.

I am making mine Rebecca, I have the stamps to make the flowers, it'll be easier to cover than if I was icing it, cos it would have to be smooth.

Not quite decided on the cake but have decided on two of these little guys for the top, custom made in our colour theme 1 grey and 1 yellow, they will also have hearts on their bellies with the opposite colour!

sister in law to be is making our cake with a friend of hers who is a cake maker, we are having three tiers although the bottom one will be fake, then carrot cake and fruit cake for the top just plain ivory icing with a blue ribbon round the bottom cake a yellow ribbon round the middle cake and an ivory one round the top, then three iced roses on the top in our colours blue,yellow and ivory we wont see it untill they come down on the friday before we get married on the sat, but i trust her and i know it will be beautiful, she has brought us a lovely photo album guest book and memory box so far, think she is as excited as us and has even brought her outfit and hat for the day xx ps all your cakes are beautiful xx

I am having, a 6 layer sponge cake in the rainbow colours (see album) with 100 cupcakes all with different coloured icing also in the rainbow of colours. :D 50 cupcakes on one stand.. the other 50 on another then our rainbow cake in the middle. No-one will know its rainbow until its cut :)
